What do I do with this Sapphire Dragon Claw?

I thought you just sold them, but it says it's a quest item.

Looked on the wiki, but nothing is there.

Any help?

Thanks in advance.

There are more caves and more claws to find. You must not have triggered the quest that requires more than one claw yet.

Quite a few of the Claws dont have quests attached to them I believe

You just find their cave and have fun

Every claw I have gotten had some kind of quest attached to it.
Spoiler:
- Gold claw belongs to shop owner in Riverwood; can be dropped/sold after quest
- Ivory, Emerald, and Coral are used in the Gauldur Amulet quest; can be dropped/sold after quest
- I have just found a Ruby claw that I used to open a door in a cave and now counts as a quest item, so I am assuming it is part of another quest I have yet to find.

Im probably wrong then, tho I do have a few claws in my Inventory that I have no idea where it goes XD

If a Dragon Claw, or any other item, is meant to be quest-related, wouldn't it be zero-weight and undroppable?

Quest items are no longer zero weight, but they are still un-droppable.

it might be a glitch, when you find it its a quest item them after you use it on the apporpriate door it becomes a normal item with most claws maybe some dont, i also have one stuck in my inventory and i know i have used it on a door before so unless there is more than one door opened with it, im guessing glitch

Oh great. You're saying Bethesda rigged Skyrim to allow yourself to become over-encumbered with undroppable items? How marvelous.

Probably not a glitch. There is at least one quests which requires you to have 3 claws on you to open doors within a separate cave from the one you found it in.

Yep, and it sucks! I picked up two Amulets of Talos and now I can't drop either one because it is considered a quest item, but I haven't found the quest yet! They each weigh 1 pound, too!

It probably has some more quest for u with it, i have the exact same one. I have a feeling more caves need the ruby claw.

I think quest items are still weightless, even though they state they have a weight. I remember receiving a quest item when I was bordering over-encumberance, and it didn't push me over, even though it clearly should have.

I thought you could only get the sapphire claw after going into Shroud Hearth Barrow. Try going back in.

Luckily, I tested the whole "quest items have weight" thing a few days ago because it seemed off to me. They ARE weightless. I had a few quest weapons and armor in my inventory and put everything else in a chest. I had 0/420 weight. I was quite relieved, myself, because I thought it was ridiculous that they would weigh anything.

Still kind of annoying to see the lute and drum in my inventory even though I've completed the bard quests attached to them... And they're still flagged as quest items. Is there a console command that will allow me to get rid of them?

Try "removeitem" here is the console page: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console#removeitem

I don't know where you got the sapphire claw without activating its quest. Across the road (literally 10 feet away) from the inn in which you are given the sapphire claw there is a nordic burial mound. Take the claw inside, get the shout using the claw to open doors along the way. Bam.

Yeah, I thought you needed to go in there to get something before you could get the claw. o.O

Spoiler:
You can't drop it, but if you take it to the Arcaneum in the College of Winterhold you can give it to Urag and he gives you 2,000 gold.

You know, there are mod's to reduce the weight of specific items and other mod's to extend your carry capacity...

The various dragon claws are used to open doors in other caves like in Bleak Falls Barrow. Some are quest-related, others are miscellaneous.
