Whilst smithing to 100 I leveled up a lot, and I learned that Dragon isn't all that great, Daedric is still better. I have full Daedric armor, legendary quality, and a one-handed Daedric mace also legendary.

Dragonscale armor is the best light armor in the game, and Dragon Bone is only slightly worse than Daedric.
Dragonscales and bones are much easier to obtain than daedra hearts.
Dragonscales+bones are hard to sell, dragon armor can be sold to any blacksmith (who usually have 1000+ gold).

There's clearly a reason it's there.

Not really. It's not that rare to see Alchemists selling Daedra Hearts.

At ~800 Septims a piece though they approach being prohibitively expensive (especially considering having also to purchase the ebony ingots) for most players.
I'm level 34 and I only just got full daedric with one heart to spare, though I suppose meta-game planning could have made it considerably easier. Meta-game kinda sucks, though.

Anyone else (especially Demon's/Dark Souls players) kinda sad at
Spoiler:
Lack of smith-able dragonbone weapons?

Theres an Ebony mine run by orcs on the far right side of the map, I farmed up that mine and walked out with about 50 Ebony Ore (and about 20 Iron Ore)

Is it just me in love with the ebony set? Ebony armor is just so beautiful.

No kidding. Broke my (daedric) heart a little to upgrade. Ended up downgrading back to ebony sword because daedric looked so atrocious.

Well actually, if you're going to wear the complete set, it doesn't matter what you wear out of Daedric or Dragon: you will easily hit the armor cap. However, it is a bit of a waste of a perk.

But if you aren't wearing a matching set etc, for example wearing Otar's mask, you will probably want Daedric for the best protection.

No lie. I'm totally walking around with full daedric but an ebony greatsword. It was terrible, I had just gotten
Spoiler:
the Ebony Mail
and then reached 100 Smithing later that day. I'll probably go back to ebony as well sooner or later. All the armors (have you guys seen glass!?) look incredible this time around.

I'm lvl 100 smithing but I focused in light armor which I now regret considering it's easy to find elven and glass full sets off of thalmor guards I would much prefer ebony and daedric armors to craft for funds and what not, both sets of dragon armor are gorgeous though!

Glass and Elven are so gorgeous and are far better looking than "fine clothes" which look better on a male than a female

I absolutely love the new looks of the armors, especially Glass, but I never found a use for Quicksilver. Anyone know?

Glass armor looks so much better now than it did in Oblivion. Still can't compete with the glass armor from Morrowind, though, in my opinion.

I've never played Morrowind, can you link or reply with a pic so I can see the armor?

Wow! Thanks, hard to believe it went from that in Morrowind to that in Oblivion, but I must say I still like Skyrim's the best.

Quicksilver is used in Elven weapon making, and Elven Gilded Armor... which as far as I can tell looks just like normal Elvel armor, lol.

My only complaint about the Dragon armor is that the Dragonscale Helm (light armor version) looks a little... off to me... and the Dragonscale armor feels like it is in definite need of a cape...
