Are nirnroots just like normal ingredients in Skyrim?

I know in Oblivion they had a significance and anyone dumb enough to eat/drop/sell them would be in a lot of trouble later on. But from the looks of it, nirnroot seems like a normal ingredient in Skyrim.

3 Questions:

1. Are there any quests related to Nirnroot?

2. Do Nirnroots respawn like any other ingredient?

3. Do Nirnroots have any special properties other than the four alchemical effects they have?

The alchemy effects are Alchemical Effects Damage Health, Damage Stamina, Invisibility, Resist Magic. Also nirnroot is less rare then it was in oblivion.

You should put that in a spoiler since I like to discover the effects on my own.

Nirnroot and Crimson Nirnroot ((found only in Blackreach)) DO respawn after a few days. Yes they respawn and a main ingredient in invisibility potions.

If you don't want to go out of your way for them then get into the college of winterhold and both in the hall of contipulence or whatever it's called on the top floor with the alchemy/enchanter area you should find shelves of ingredients including nirnroot and even more in the Archmages quarters. These ingredients -DO- respawn on those shelves FASTER than the arch mage's garden.

Another easy Nirnroot are in Shor's stone I think, the village at the base of 7,000 steps and in the city where you do those vampire quests.

So... I shouldn't be hording the ones I've found so far? They're not worth their weight in gold any more?

Crimson Nirnroot, 30 of them, are needed for a quest but they do respawn but only in Blackreach

Nirnroot, and after you finish the quest, Crimson Nirnroot ((which has the -same- properties as Nirnroot just it's colored red)) You want to mix them with either:
Chaurus Eggs
Ice Wraith Teeth
Luna Moth Wing
or Vampire dust

They are worth their weight in gold -ONLY- in Invisibility potions I found which tripple their worth respectively
But yes they DO respawn and they are sure hellavula lot easier to find in Skyrim since their glow is so darn big

Spoiler:
There's a miscellaneous quest in Riften where you have to collect 20 nirnroots for Ingun Black-Briar, and she pays you something like 800 gold for them, I think.

So just to confirm, all wild ingredients (ones that are not shelved or stored, but are found in the wilds) can respawn, right? If so, does this include Nirnroot? Is it confirmed that it respawns? I've been told that it does not.

Finally, what about non-wild ingredients (found stored in homes, shops, and dungeons)? Do they respawn as well?

I need to know this because as a dedicated alchemist, I'm weary of quests that require me to hand over ingredients, especially the blackbriar quest where she asks you for 20 deathbell, 20 nightshade, and 20 nirnroot. I don't want to give away all those ingredients if they won't ever come back.

Yes, it respawns. Roughly 30 game day cycle.

As for interior items, if the cell is capable of completely resetting (some dungeons) or partial resetting (Arch Mage's quarters), then they will.

Excellent. Thanks! Its just that some have said that nirnroot doesn't respawn. That would really suck.
