Anyone else agree that the Psijic Order are awesome and that they should usurp the Thalmor's rule over Summerset (I refuse to call it Alinor)?

Heck yeah.
In that way that's why I personally love the College of Winterhold questline.
It's defiance indirectly by the Psijiic Order to the Thalmor Dominion.

Wish there was more lore on them. Supposedly they caused the storm that stopped the invasion of the Sea-Elves at the beginning of the 3rd Era

Yeah I remember that they stopped Ogrum's(sp?) Armada of ships.
I wouldn't mind some DLC content where we visit the Isle of Atraeum.

This really doesn't belong in Lore. It's not a discussion about the lore of the Psijic Order, or the lore of... anything, really.

What are you prattling on about? What part of any of this isn't lore? It certainly isn't gameplay as none of this is playable other than the comment about Winterhold.
Anyway Ysmir..yup they did. The Empire sent a fleet to help but it would have been a devastating battle for them.
