The 'F' key

I think something is terribly wrong. Standard, the favorites menu was bound to the C, and nothing was ever bound to F. I tried to get something from my inventory to be displayed in the fav menu, so I pressed F, as displayed, yet nothing happened. C didn't do anything either.
I thought okay, let's bind the fav menu to F then. So I do that, try again, but alas, nothing happens when pressing F. So alright, I'll just play the game without the fav menu that they've been advertizing about. Turns out I can't name enchanted items either.
Am I the only one having this problem?

Do you use a standard-keyboard? Or something like a big one with special Keybinds??
In my Menu, at the bottom there“s the button named i have to press for fav, what does it say for you?

Thanks for replying.
I'm using an AZERTY keyboard. Same as yours, but with ZW, AQ and ,M swapped. As well as all characters. The french apparently found it logical to use ; more often than . since I need to press shift to make a dot. Typing @ with one hand causes great pains. I live in the part of Belgium which politics are pushovers and always admit to the french part (who are essencially the same as Greece without us).
So no, not the standard keyboard. I do have special keybinds on my macro keys, but I don't use them for Skyrim.
In the menu it says 'F' on favorite. Pressing F, or clicking on it, does nothing at all.

Q was default to walk left for me, due to the french keyboard annoyance. :/

Edit: Having played around with it some more, it seems that whatever the 'Toggle POV' key is set to is the one that favorites items in the inventory menu. Try it out.
