skyrim is 8.75 right now. will be 9.25-9.5 if/when they fix the multiple bugs/glitches and framerate/graphics issues on the pcs, which I think is due to the game only using 2 cores even if you have quad core or more.

oblivion is 8.25? but that was on xbox. i'd probably give it higher if i had it on pc because of the user made patches.

Skyrim with expectations set by previous games (Spell mechanics/ customization, UI, Enchanting/ customization); 8 or 9.

Skyrim as compared to every other RPG out there; 11.
Markarth is a better RPG than most RPGs :D

Why so much hate on oblivion! Oblivion was great in the series. Sure it wasn't as good as Morrowind, but it brought Tes into the new (well now almost old) generation in graphics/gameplay. When it came out in 2006 I couldn't believe my eyes. Funny perception changes over time isn't it.

Morrowind: 9.4
Oblivion: 9.2
Skyrim: Way too soon (needs a good year or two to see if it has lasting power) 9.29.

Don't be rude.

I would as of now give Skyrim at least a 9, because its basically everything I wanted in the game, even if I didn't know I wanted it. Oblivion, I am retroactively giving a 5.5 because it just falls so flat in comparison to Skyrim. Previously, I probably would have given it a 7. Morrowind is steady hanging in there at like an 8 or so.

Absolutely. The game is vast. It takes far less time to do everything in Oblivion than it does in Morrowind, so in that respect you at least certainly 'get your money's worth'.
Morrowind gets criticism from various angles; it's old, and its graphics reflect that, it works on a to-hit basis, and there is very little spoken dialogue (you better like reading if you buy it).
However, Morrowind allows for unadulterated customization in everything Spells and Enchantments, it's got more lore and immersion than Oblivion could dream of, and marginally more than even Skyrim (you can literally hang around and read about everything if you find an NPC knowledgeable on the field).
Morrowind is a game that is greater than the sum of its parts. If you can approach it with no modern-gaming bias, there's no reason it won't became a fast favorite.

Skyrim: 9.75 (No game deserves a ten, plus Skyrim could use some bug fixes.
Oblivion: 9.5 (used to be my favourite game... until Skyrim)
Morrowind: 8.5

To be honest, I think adding Morrowind to this is only going to cause this to become an Oblivion-Morrowind flamewar, but I digress

Actual gaming Score:
  • Skyrim - 9.5/10
  • Oblivion - 9/10
  • Morrowind - 9.25/10

TES Score:
  • Skyrim - 10/10
  • Oblivion - 7/10
  • Morrowind - 9/10

Explanations: Morrowind has the soul of a TES game, Oblivion has the game mechanics of a great game, Skyrim has the best of both worlds

Yeah I've been wondering for a minute now why Morrowind was getting rated when no one asked. And being rated badly at that. Trolls, for sure. And no one else even bothered to answer xopurrangaox. Just pouncing on a chance to (try) and bash Morrowind.

Who's bashing Morrowind? Some of us accidentally included a Morrowind rating, big deal. Your a troll for posting that.

It really shouldn't, but there is also no reason why it can't be included. If someone wants to throw their opinion in about it, why not? Isn't hurting anyone.

First I want to say that I thought your answer regarding Morrowind was extremely well put and a great answer. That being said, is there really any reason to call people trolls for rating Morrowind badly, or even rating it. Also, nobody bashed on Morrowind. They gave it a lower rating. There is a difference.

Again, there is no need to call someone a troll.

I'm getting really sick of the uncalled for arguments that are popping up around here. It's just all in bad taste. Discuss the topic the OP posted in a civil and polite manner, or don't post at all. Seriously, does that need to be said, its in the rules. But people seem to be forgetting it a lot.

Guys. A couple of people want to rate Morrowind, that's not a big deal. We all have our own opinions about things. Just look at it, and move on if you don't like it. Remain calm and think calm.

Skyrim 10/10, a perfect game.
Back in 10/11/11 I would've given Oblivion a 10/10 but since I think Skyrim is better than Oblivion and Skyrim gets a 10/10 then by definition Oblivion must get a lower score, say 9.9/10.

Yet to play Morrowind.

Skyrim - 9 Still need the time to really tell if this game is better than Oblivion, but so far it is very good.
Oblivion - 9.5 This is my favorite game of the Elder Scrolls and I believe it will stay that way, I don't get why most are saying that it is dull..
Morrowind - 7 Morrowind is a great game but I don't get the praise of it. Sure, it has much lore and it is interesting, but apart from that it is rather slow and there are many cons to it.

But hey, this is just my opinion.

raw rating:

Skyrim: 9.99 (would be a perfect 10 if it weren't for lack of custom spells.
Oblivion:9.0
Morrowind: 4.0 (never liked it, had bad experience with bugs an such)
