Just so everyone knows, this RP does have an actual storyline. It's not just a free-for-all. But you can pretty much do whatever you want.

On 11 November, 2011, the construction of what was to become the "most stunning and impressive zoo Earth has ever known" began in Los Angeles, California. Billions of dollars were invested into the making of this zoo. Animals from every corner of the planet would be brought to this location for the civilians to see. The architecture would be breathtaking. The animal exhibits would be like nobody had ever seen before.

On 20 June, 2012, the National Western Zoo of the United States of America (or National Western Zoo for short) held its Grand Opening. Millions upon millions rushed through the gates to view the unique animals and buy vast amounts of merchandise. It is incredible. It is amazing. It is the greatest zoo that has ever been created.

It is the National Western Zoo's Grand Opening day. You are one of the animals in captivity there. Whether you were born in captivity or was just captured from the wild, you were placed into the zoo only one month ago.

All animals know the cardinal rule - never talk to a human. You may only talk to each other when the humans are unable to hear you.

4. Yes, all animals can talk in this RP. But it is unwise to talk to a human. Terrible, terrible things could happen. No animal has talked to a human since ancient times.

5. You can do whatever you want in this RP - especially during nighttime after the zoo has been closed...

6. Yes, there can be romance. But...these are animals. So...

7. No G-modding. No controlling other people's charaters.

8. I will control the Nation Western Zoo's guests and staff.

9. Have fun. This is comedy. Don't take it too seriously.

Sort of. Except the animals are real - as in, they can't stand on two legs (unless their species can), or drink out of straws, or use human weapons and tools. It's like that new movie that just came out. I think it was called Zookeeper. It's got Kevin James in it. That's the type of zoo this is.

Biography: Born in a home but thrown onto the street as soon as she opened her eyes, she knows life and it's sorrows...but also its joys. She isn't really a part of the zoo but she enjoys the company of the zoo's animals. Everyone in the zoo knows her and the employees frequently feed her.

Personaliy (My cat is in-depth!): Having lived a wilder life than all the other animals in the zoo she is often asked for advice. Luckily for them she is a compassionate cat and always listens. She will hide her own problems and help others whenever she can. She remains a cat however...

Appearace (be descriptive): Biography: Quetzals tend not to survive in captivity. They are born in the wilderness and prefer to die in the wilderness. That is why Quincy was cloned and raised in a lab, learning to accept humans and never experiencing a life in the Guatemalan wilds. Quncu was later bought by a billionaire, and kept as a pet for a few months. When the billionaire discovered he had cancer, he donated most of his possessions to charity. Quincy was donated to the zoo.

Personaliy (optional): Quincy is nervous and jittery. He's socially awkward as well. Since he was raised with humans, Quincy doesn't have much common sense and it rather gullible.

Appearace (be descriptive): Biography: This Chameleon was living in the jungle for the first few years of his life, and was bullied, and is not the most athletic chameleon. He is smart, though being taken away from the jungle and being placed in the zoo has dulled his intelligence.

Personaliy (optional): He is sharp and observant, although weak and shy. Being bullied and betrayed a lot back in the jungle, he is didtrustful.

Species: Giant Panda

Binomial Name (just to be a pain in the ass - look it up on Wikipedia): Ailuropoda melanoleuca

Gender: Male

Age: 3

Appearace (be descriptive): This panda has a round head and round ears. He has two black patches of fur over his eyes and a medium sized black nose. He has black patches over his arms and chest and again on his legs. He is large but has the normal BMI of most pandas. He is pretty muscular.

Biography: Fluff was born in the zoo. His mother recently died afterword and the father was shipped to another zoo. He did have a brother, but he died shortly after the mother because he was a runt in the litter. He now always wonders about his father and wants to see him. If he ever gets out of the zoo, the first thing he would want to do is find his father.

Personaliy (optional): Fluff: Dumb and happy. He is social but doesn't know how to use his brain the best. He is usually funny but he finds fun in the pain of others.

Species: Grey Wolf

Binomial Name: (Didn't need to look it up.) Canis Lupus

Appearace (be descriptive): Silvery grey pelt, with a snowy white belly and throat. Fairly small. Angry, intelligent silver-blue eyes.
Biography: Arja was captured in Ontario in Canada, by some some Finnish hikers, who wanted to bring back a trophy. They were caught by park guards, and she was sent to the first zoo that wanted her... LA.

Personaliy (optional): Solitary and angry, misses her pack. Quite intelligent.

So I'm pretty much joining because it's a good oppurtinity to be evil, and I'll be getting King A's computer for a little while during his trip to Canada at the end of November.

Name: Rantil

Species: Spotted Hyena

Binomial Name (just to be a pain in the ass - look it up on Wikipedia): Crocuta crocuta

Gender: Male

Age: 10

Appearance (be descriptive): Rantil is larger than the average spotted hyena. His toned muscles and dangerously sharp claws are two of his most notable characteristics. But the three long, disturbing scars that run across the right side of his torso are easily what would catch a man’s eye at first glimpse.
Rantil’s eyes have a constant shine that makes them appear to be “dark” or “sinister”. His jaws are massive, and each individual tooth appears to have been sharpened like a blade.

Biography: Rantil was born in the heartlands of Tanzania, on the eastern ridges of Africa. He was the de facto leader of his clan of 67 hyenas. During his time as leader, he ruthlessly led the clan into the invasion of pride of lions’ territory near a game reserve. It was then that Rantil single-handedly battled a team of three lionesses. Against all odds, Rantil overpowered one of them and mercilessly killed her. The other two lionesses were driven off with the aid of several other hyenas. Rantil was mortally wounded, but still managed to survive (this is where he gained his scars). He then conducted a second raid of the lions’ territory. While the hyenas emerged victorious under Rantil, their triumph was short-lived. Human poachers surrounded the hyena clan in jeeps. In the massacre that followed, Rantil’s mate and cub were slaughtered, along with 32 other hyenas. Rantil himself was captured and sold to American investors. After a long and painful journey, he was finally placed in the National Western Zoo.

Personality (optional): Rantil is an extremely dangerous sociopath. The sudden loss of his mate, cub, and homeland in such a short period of time drained what little forms of kindness and emotion he previously possessed. In addition, he is intelligent beyond measure. Rantil can be described as “intelligent like a human, clever like a fox, and aggressive like a lion”. He is eerily quiet and dangerously hostile. Rantil has an unbelievable hatred for humans. He is extremely aggressive towards them.
Unlike most spotted hyenas, Rantil’s laugh is very low-pitched and has an overall…dark sound to it.

Well, we've got a friendly cat, freaky bird, a socially awkward chameleon, a sarcastic panda, and a p*ssed off wolf and hyena. Quite the bunch. But we still need some more (preferably big) animals.

I might just make a monkey to complete things.

Appearance (be descriptive): Biography: Born in captivity, this tiger is tough. His mother and father were one of the top tigers in their forest. A bit dim-witted, but athletic and strong. His mother and father died 3 weeks after he was born.

Personality (optional): He is aggresive, loyal, but not a genius. His average intelligence limits his superiority, and he's not lazy at all.
