Housing/Safe Storage

Please post here about housing and safe storage.

I like to hoard things but I need a place to store them first

It's already been confirmed that any house you purchase contains safe storage.

We'll probably need to wait a few days until the pc users can go through all the modding tools and see exactly what is and isn't a safe container

Breezehome is a safehouse available for purchase upon completion of the Bleak Falls Barrow Quest. It may be purchased off Proventus Avenicci for 5000 gold, as a reward for retrieving the Dragonstone for Jarl Balgruuf's court mage.

Anyone found out when some of the upgrades for the houses are like yet? For example, is there any house where you can get a blacksmith upgrade, or a cooking upgrade, or an alchemy upgrade?

i stored some of my drangon bones in

the empty chest on the left side of the secret blades room in the sleeping giant inn,
and they were still there after a couple of days, i think its pretty safe, but im not sure, dont blame me if you lose items

Haven't tried any besides the one to the left of the bed as you look into the room, but that one seems to be - if you mean the College of Winterhold, right? :P

Breezehome, (Whiterun): 5000 gold
Can be purchased from the Proventus Avenicci after completing the Bleak Falls Barrow quest.
Proudspire Manor, (Solitude): 25000 gold
Available after completing a quest for the jarl.
Hjerim, (Windhelm): 12000 Gold
Available after completing the Stormcloak quests.
Honeyside, (Riften): 8000 Gold
Can be purchased directly from Anuriel.
Vlindrel Hall, (Markarth): 8000 Gold
Can be purchased from Raerek after completing Red Eagle Redoubt and some miscellaneous quests.

Granted by Mirabelle Ervine during First Lessons.

Dawnstar Sanctuary, (outside Dawnstar): Free

I have the official guide:
Spoiler:
Whiterun house has a alchemy upgrade and a cooking pot which is in the dining room or kitchen upgrade (from my own experience)
Solitude house has a alchemy upgrade, an enchanting upgrade and a kitchen one which i assume will have a cooking pot.
Markarth house has a alchemy upgrade and enchanting upgrade.
Windhelm has a kitchen upgrade, alchemy upgrade, an enchanting upgrade...and an armory which might include a blacksmith forge.
Riften house has a kitchen, an alchemy upgrade and enchanting upgrade
