If the Morag Tong happened to be in Skyrim would you join them or the Dark Brotherhood why would you join that one and not the other?

I prefer the religious aspect of the dark brotherhood.

The Morag Tong seem more pre-occupied with the monetary aspect of assassination, even though the actual murder bit is the interesting part.

I prefer being the "good guy" in TES, of the two Morag Tong is more legal and good so...Morag Tong. Though I like the symbol of the dark brotherhood more, the Morags looks like scribble, the DBs is a cool black hand.

I prefer the one that kills only those who deserve it.
I thought it was the db, but they kill innocents for money, as do the tong.

I personally would go for the Dark Brotherhood cooler name better symbol I like how they are underground and illegal and that they are cold blooded killaz

I'd go for the Dark Brotherhood. The Morag Tong was kind of dull and mainly consisted of 'Kill X, get money.' The closest you came to originality was the optional quest in which you
Spoiler:
poisoned a Morag Tong traitor.
Whereas the Dark Brotherhood not only had originality in their quests, but they also had motives, reasons, personalities. I can remember every member of the Dark Brotherhood in Cheydinal, yet ask me to name a Morag Tong member and I just can't think of one.

From what we saw of the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion, definitely the Morag Tong. The Morag Tong felt much more serious and real to me. I loved how the hangout was hidden for real too. I liked the mysteriousness and dangerousness of the Dark Brotherhood in Morrowind, but in Oblivion they almost felt like a joke. Well, that's a big problem I have with Oblivion in general in regards to its characters and dialogues, it all feels like they are part of the ''Cyrodiil Theatre Troupe''. I mean, how can anyone can take the Dark Brotherhood seriously in Oblivion? Judging from what we saw in Tribunal and how the different factions are handled in Morrowind, I'd bet the Oblivion Dark Brotherhood would be a parody of the real one if it was featured in Morrowind as a joinable faction. The Dark Brotherhood of Oblivion feels like the comic relief of the game's factions, with their over-the-top evilness that ends up being more amusing than genuinely unsettling.

Having said that, I could see the Dark Brotherhood as much more interesting in Skyrim if they actually took them as a seriously dangerous and deranged faction. I guess part of the problem in Oblivion was the voice acting, but the script was seriously lacking at times too. I hope Skyrim can bring back a degree of seriousness similar to what the texts of Morrowind had.

It's easy when every character are as extravagant as someone taking part of a gay pride parade. Bit of an exaggeration here, though.

Morag tong, all the way. I prefer my evil characters to not be religiously tied. It makes me feel more evil 'cus its out of pleasure rather than devotion.

Yeah I don't like having the religion but I like DB better I just choose not to believe in Sithis like that orc

The religion in the DB is optional, so I don't care one way or another.

Exactly you don't have to worship Sithis it's not a cult

I always felt it was the other way round, actually. The Morag Tong kill as a job, whereas the Dark Brotherhood kill as a lifestyle.

If someone unknowing of the elder scrolls walked in here and read this thread they would think we are all psychopaths :D!
Personally I've never played Morrowind but I think both sides seem pretty cool, can't really decide which one is better... :/

I prefer the professional assassin feel of the Morag Tong over DB's more personal approach to murder

What I also liked about the Morag Tong is the shadiness of it all. I mean, it's government sanctioned yes, but it's still morally questionable. And there are the grey writs.

So is the Dark Brotherhood even more so?

Yes, well, there are some of us that like some depth and professionalism...bathing in blood psychotic isn't something I can relate to while RPing...denial and revenge, yes...making furniture from the skin and bones of a convent, not so much...
