Well actually it sort of details the beginning of getting into the Dark Brotherhood but the writer stops to avoid spoiling to much of the plot/questline. The info they do give is quite amazing and gives us some critical info on how Bethesda immerses us into joining the DB.

I've chosen not to read the article to avoid any sort of spoilers...

...But let me hazard a guess: you have to collect thirteen lollipops hidden inside a mystical glen of cotton candy trees and marshmallow boulders.

It is much more sinister than that

Dark Brotherhood is in effect an assassins' guild, so i doubt a bunch of sweets would have much to do with it

Think more along the lines of ritual sacrifice....and mistaken identity....which equals an opportunity of greatness; to be basked in the glory of another persons blood.

Oh, that.

This would've been my second guess. :|

I skipped reading that article, as DB is my most favourite guild in TES along with Thieves' Guild.

I want to experience it all by myself!

I figured it couldn't hurt and besides I honestly don't get phased by spoilers cause I know my experience will be just that my experience so no spoiler ever ruins that cause it isn't from my perception.

Hmmm, let me try to make a spoiler-free summary. I hope I can get you spoiler-avoiders even MORE exited.......

The article discusses how you pick up the first quest for the DB. I have seen this spoiler before, but with more details then were in here.
The person you end up talking with does not recognize you and is clearly psychologically damaged by the events in this quest's backstory.
The DB experience promises to be morally ambiguous, better written and more shocking then in Oblivion.

I'll say. The Dark Brotherhood in this game seems to be much more serious than the one in Oblivion.

I thought the Dark Brotherhood was very well written in Oblivion, there were also some shocking twists. It was much better than any other questline in the game for sure. Of course if it's better written in Skyrim it must be absolutely amazing!

As I said I know a little bit more about the first DB Skyrim quest then is in the review. I can guarantee you that is is better (more messed up) then first DB quest in Oblivion. This creates some expectation that the quest line as a whole may nor may not live up to......

I think by this spoiler that we are in for a true treat this time around not just in the Dark Brotherhood but all join able factions.

Well, for starters, they won't be handing out any lollipops to the new recruits... :(

Because it's no longer "kill random beggar, get woken by Lucien Lachance who pretty much advertises the Dark Brotherhood like its a commerical."

You do a quest to get noted by them, then you get a message from a courier.

I really wonder if there's more than one way to join the DB. Everyone's been talking about this one method; what if there's several different ways to initiate the quest line?
