Greetings, UESP forum members! Your ever pink and loyal moderator Avron the S'wit here to update you on something I know many of you have questions on: the future of the Skyrim subforum.

As we know, Skyrim has a perspective release date of 11/11/11, which is fast approaching! And naturally we are all very excited. We would like to inform you of our plans as a moderator team for the subforum and hopefully answer any questions that you may have. This includes:

What will happen to threads already in the subforum?
Shortly before the game is released, we will be cleaning out the Skyrim subforum. The Skyrim subforum will be archived and a new one opened. This way, you are still able to revisit the pre-game hypothetical buzz by visiting the archives or doing a forum search.

The moderators will set up a few sticky topics to get started, and we will keep threads we think are informative. We would just like to start fresh to avoid pains for you guys and us!

Will posts in Skyrim start contributing toward my post count?
Yes. Once the game is released and the subforum becomes "official," posts will contribute to your post count.

HOWEVER, because of this the moderator team will be out in full force to make sure that all rules of the forum, including proper forum posting etiquette, are followed. You will be expected to follow all the rules of the forum. This includes duplicate topics, double posting, behavior toward other members, and punctuation and grammar, to name a few.

If you do not follow forum rules, you will find your posts being deleted, your threads being closed, and your self being warned, if applicable. We would like to encourage everyone to read the rules to re-familiarize yourself with what we expect of you; if you are not sure what we expect etiquette-wise on the forum, I would encourage you to visit the thread What Would Avron Do?, which has some helpful tips about avoiding spam and promoting good communication on the forums.

If you have any questions on the Skyrim subforum, please ask them in this thread for us moderators to answer for you.

We look forward to the game's release and all of the exciting threads and buzz that will follow! Thank you for following the rules and for making the UESP forums the great place it has been for years. Let's get ready - Skyrim is coming and the future is bright!

Faithfully yours,
The Moderator Team

Erm if you are just going to archive the threads in the Skyrim forum, I have a feeling that the posts that previously didn't would then end up counting towards your post count.

To stop that you may actually have to archive the entire sub-forum and make a new one in it's place. I'm not saying it will happen, but the last thing you want it a mess like that.

So..... this means we can all go wild, hysterical and unruly here until the Great Purge? >:)

You could do... probably wouldn't work out to well for ya. It all comes down to the answer of one question, 'are you a gambling man?'

Yes, if you'd like to be kicked off of the forums. 8)

(Real answer: No. I will personally ban you if you do.)

Just a minor question, what timezone will you be working off with the relase? GMT?

We're actually still deciding, but it won't be for very long. It should be just about prior to the game to time it just right.

I'll update you as soon as I know!

Wouldn't an appropriate time be GMT 00?

Also, can we have a countdown clock thread put up one day before release? It would be so cool to watch those hours, then minutes and finally seconds until it came out!

I would really like to not see a countdown clock thread, because the goal of the forums is and always is discussion. I think that a countdown thread would be silly and lead to a lot of spam and "empty" posts, so I'd like to say no to that.

Besides, we all live in different time zones! But perhaps we can have a little party of some sorts in the General Banter subforum a few days before. I'll let you know. 8)

I know, that's why 00 would be good. It's in the middle. But a party a few days before... 8)

Moderator/Personal request: Please put any spoiler that you're posting, big or small, in spoiler tags. Believe it or not, there are some people who've avoided leaked content. It's especially hard to moderate spoilers, so a warning would be greatly appreciated.

UESP Staff

I am expecting a Tsunami of trolls to hit all TES community sites after 11.11.11, so my thoughts will be with you and I hope you manage to keep things under control and friendly around here. But I am a realist, if you manage that it will be a miracle. So you may not see me after 11.11.11 or if you do, I will restrict my self to the modding forum.

I have no patience when it comes to dealing with trolls, so you would probably have to moderator me if I did stick around and post in all forums.

But before I disappear I just wanted to say I appreciate the efforts you make here to keep it friendly for the rest of us and if you ever need anything, remember the webmaster of The Engineering Guild is a friend of yours, feel free to contact me any time you like.

All the best.

Giskard.

If I may suggest, IGN says they will post their review at 5:01 am Pacific Time (GMT -8:00, I believe). If I'm following allowing the general idea, your going to seperate the pre-release posts from the post release posts, so to me that seems like a logical time or any other guranteed time when it's assured everyone can discuss at least one solid piece of post-release content.

Just a thought but its late and what do I know.

Hmm, the game will have been out for around a full day in Australia and New Zealand at that time, if my maths is correct (GMT + 10
[+ 10] GMT - 8 [+ 8] 5:01 am [+ 5] = 23 hours Australian time, more NZ time). Still, no matter.

So all the posts I made in the Archive will count towards my post count? Or is it all new posts made in the Skyrim forum will NOW count?

Re: The Skyrim Subforum

The Pre-release Skyrim forum will not count towards your post count. Only the new sub-forums will do that.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. I consider most of those off topic and didn't want them xD

What will this sub forum be for?

What? have you seen the Index page? there are like 3-4 new sub-forums on there. The one we have been using for months now is the Pre-release Archive.

So those are all the sub-forums? That explains a lot...

It's so unfair that the Australians get it so soon!

Though, if they didn't I'd have to wait till late friday, so...

Aaaaaaargh!

I'm simply fed up with waiting! I can't stand this anymore! I need to crack some heads open!

Please just dn't post pictures for the first hours. Pretty please!
