Knights of the old republic

Post by Lord_Carson158 »

I dont know who else out there still plays this but in my opinion it one of the best games ever made.
My question is what is the best Jedi class to have when im a scoundrel?

Oh I use to play this game constantly... both of them infact. Makes me kinda want to give it another go at some point soon.

As for your question, I found that a Jedi Consular always worked well with the Scoundrel class. If memory serves me correctly the Soldier class always benefited the Jedi Guardian class the most, and the Scout class always paired well with the Jedi Sentinel class.
Consular's are fun to play, the increased control of the force powers makes things a lot more interesting then just hitting things with a lightsaber repeatedly.

I think it's the other way around, Dean.
Scout-Consular, and scoundrel-sentinel.
I'm not arrogant. I'm insecure.

To be honest, either is fine. I liked the Scoundrel-Consular build, you can get crazy high charisma and persuasion(from both the classes), be fairly competent in melee, and you will also get the extra force powers. You end up a walking diplomat, people will fall at your feet when you use your silver tongue. If that doesn't work you can simply force persuade them, which is a skill I find is a really good choice if you have powers to spare... which you do have.
As for combat, you need not worry about being a tank as you can simply fry everything with force lightning. You have a ton of force reserves, and if you raise the stat which helps make force powers work more efficiently then you are set.

Sentinel is more the middle ground Jedi class. Scouts are the same for the profession classes, so I find they compensate each other well.

Nope. I dragged myself into the Sith base but gave up when I killed some prisoner under the presumption that flicking the switches by his cage thingy would release him. That was just ridiculous.

It was a puzzle, turning them all green would have freed him. I'm assuming you turned the wrong ones and killed him?

That is why you save before you do puzzles, especially later on when they are designed to be challenging. The puzzle in the Sith base has been used countless times in the past.

Aaahh, man do I love this game. I'm having difficulty deciding wheter Morrowind or Kotor is my favorite of all time, it's actually leaning towards the latter.

As for classes, I think Scoundrel-Consular is fun because you get a massive bonus to defense and force powers.
Also, I once tried a Soldier-Consular which was fun since a actually made for a really well rounded character.

Slight spoiler:
Spoiler:
The soldier-consular could also damage Darth Malak with force powers. It felt great to force whirlwind him, with his unique animations and all!
Oh, and HK-47 is the greatest videogame character I've run across yet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg1gTas7OAA
