Hi im wondering whether to do a Dark Elf or a Nord for my Skyrim character I would like you guys to choose by voting and if you want leaving a comment on why and whichever race has the most votes 11-11-11 is the race I will choose for my one and only character thanks

I wouls say Nord, even though i like Dunmers better, a Nord looks better in Skyrim

Nord. My race list from favourite to least favaourite:

Nord
Orc
Dark Elf
Imperial
Argonian
Wood Elf
High Elf
Breton
Khajiit

Always preferred Nords because my playstyle is usually tank. Dark elves are better for mage or stealth classes I find.
But Nords are my number 1 race from Morrowind-Skyrim.

My favs most to least:
Nord
Dunmer
Argonian
Imperial
Breton
Orc (Would be higher if they looked better...will be between imperial and argonian in skyrim)
Bosmer
Redguard



Khajit Altmer all at the bottom, refuse to play those two they look awful...Heres how I would choose:
Nord if you want a fighter/battlemage
Dunmer if you want a Mage, Thief, Assassin, Archer, or a mix of those 4

My personal preference is Dunmer, mostly because I think that while a Nord seems more fitting considering the environment, the Dunmer starts off a little more balanced so that one can kind of experiment with the playstyle more easily, at least for a short while.

Go with Nord.

But jump away from the 'standard' has to be a tank. Make him/her what ever you want them to be. A Nord Mage, Thief, Assassin, Archer or a combo of those. Mix it up. Surely every Nord in Skyrim isn't an axe wielding drunkard.

There are going to be a lot of Nords in the game I'm sure, so you'll fit in quite well, especially if you conform to the usual warrior style.

I've always went with Dumer to start in Morrowind and Oblivion, but I may begin with a Nord this time around just because it seems to fit into the games overall essence a bit better....we'll see though..in 21 days!!

Yeah either way Dunmer or Nord im definetly gonna be an Assassin and thank you your right that's so stereotypical like saying every Dunmer is an Assassin I mean don't get me wrong if im a Nord Assassin im still gonna drink after a contract but im not gonna be a giant hulking axe wielding drunk Nord who is racist

You can also do two main characters, because skyrim is not an MMO.

Oh I know I can but im pretty heavy into RP and what I like to do is make one character make a giant backstory for him spend like an hour creating his appearance then I play as him and I tend to make him like me so he makes decisions like I would if I did two characters it would get to confusing switching between and having to think about what decision that character would make so I make one character and put alot of work into him then just RP him so much that he actually ages like my Fallout 3 character I played that character 3 years in game

Pick the one you like. No one can pick the character that truly reflects you because no one here knows you enough.. It is really up to you.

True thanks I think I will go with a Nord considering my heritage and im going to make him an Assassin yeah I said it Nord Assassin

Even though I voted Dark Elf(muahahaha), I would say it's a matter of personal preference, although Nord would be better for a role-playing experience.

Khajiit fit more as magi then orcs do. There are several khajiit mages in the es games. Ever seen one orc mage?
