There is only one map that show places outside of Tamriel, and I wanna know what the Hell is goin' on over there. Who lives there, are there other races ? Why is there no lore on this stuff ?

Here's a link to the map: Map West of Tamriel (Only map showing outside of Tamriel)

What exactly are you asking? There is Yokuda, original home of the Redguards, Atmora, original home of the Nedic peoples, Aldmeris, home of the elves, Thras, home of the Sload, and Pyandonea, home of some of the Aldmeri exiles, the Maormer.
And Akavir.

But who are all those peoples ! There's so much lore and knowledge it's all so daunting :p .... I know such a small percentage of the lore that there is ...

I'd love to know whats going on in those places too. Specially Akavir. I was hoping we would catch a glimpse of that race in Skyrim, but it doesn't seem likely...

These articles and their sources and links will tell you everything there is to know. It's quite interesting too! :)
Spoiler:
Basically, Akavir is a tropical land full of beings that try to kill each other, including the snake people (Tsaesci), the tiger folk (Ka Po' Tun), whose leader actually transformed into a dragon.

Atmora is the country where Nords came from. The history of Tamriel would be quite different if they hadn't come to Tamriel! :D

I suggest starting with those two, and maybe Aldmeris and Yokuda because they are the most interesting ones.

And Akavir.
Of these places:

Yokuda, ancestral and original home of the Redguards (Yokudans, whose name is a corruption of Ra Gada) was essentially destroyed, when it sank into the sea. We know very little about it, only that it was the scene of frequent conflict. Possible causes for its destruction include natural (as in geological and explainable in our world) earth tremors, and a theory that the cataclysm was caused by a rebel band of magical swordsmen, called the Ansei. We also know that in recent times, ships from Anvil have set sail to the region, but we do not know why.

Thras, also known as the Coral Kingdoms, an archipelago of about sixteen islands found southwest of Tamriel, in the direction of the Summerset Isles. It is the home of the Sload and was sunk by the All Flags Navy, after a plague that originated there spread across Tamriel (Thrassian Plague). There are claims it was raised from the depths by the Sloads.

Aldmeris, was the continent the Aldmer originated from. Our best bet is that it came under threat in the Merethic Era, causing the Aldmeri to leave in search of a new home, although it's exact fate is unknown.

Atmora, or Elder Wood in Altmeris, is a continent to the north of Tamriel. It was the original homeland of the early Nords. Basically, famous for being the homeland of the Nords, not much is known about it, although it would appear that it was war-torn at the time of the exodus of those Nords who did come to Tamriel, but was later peaceful.

Pyandonea is an island-continent located to the far southwest of Tamriel. It is the home to the Maormer (Sea Elves). It is covered mostly in rain forests, and is also known for sea serpents, which the Maomer are known to have tamed to use as mounts and warbeasts. It is apparently ruled by the immortal wizard King Orgnum. Throughout the First and Second Eras, the Maormer frequently pillaged Summerset, although at one point during the Second Era, they may have been allied to the Thalmor (Aldmeri Dominion). The last contact with the continent was during the War of the Isle in 3E 110, when the Altmer, with the help of the Imperial Navy and possibly the Psijic Order, vanquished the Pyandonean Armada.

An island, thought to by Pyandonea, can be made out on this globe.

Roscrea is an island and former Imperial territory that lies somewhere between Tamriel and Akavir. It was conquered by Uriel Septim V in 3E 271. Late in the Third Era, Solitude annexed the island along with several other Imperial territories. My best guess is that it is near Skyrim.

Yneslea also lies somewhere between Tamriel and Akavir. It was conquered by Uriel Septim V in 3E 279. In 3E 288, the Emperor sent to Legions to end and uprising and pacify the residents, that is all we know about it.

Cathnoquey also lies somewhere between Tamriel and Akavir. It was conquered by Uriel Septim V in 3E 276, but that is all that has ever been mentioned on the subject.

And finally, the famous Akavir, also known as "Dragon Land". Akavir is a continent east of Tamriel. It has a history of animosity towards Tamriel, with Akavir invading several times. Most of what is known about Akavir comes form the failed invasion led by Uriel V. Still, while this knowledge is very incomplete and in parts inaccurate, it's the one continent we know most about as players, and this article is quite comprehensive.

Hope that helps .

Spoiler:
I went a little overboard with my description of Pyandonea, but I do so love all the Elves. It's probably the place I want to visit the most, alongside Akavir, with Thras or Aldmeris a coming third on the list.

Edit: didn't realise that [&@%!] would be blocked

Interesting information OblivionDuruza. (: Thank you.

How come Bethesda hasn't finished the lore on all these places outside of Tamriel though ... It really gets on my nerves because I want to know more than I already do ! I am sick of Tamriel (just jokes) ;).

Does anyone think that the section with High Rock and Hammerfell looks like Europe a bit? And yes, I would love to have the lore more plentiful for these provinces. I wonder if Bethesda will have us get a map that shows the whole planet of Nirn, although that might be bad for future games.

Well it'd be nice to know more about Nirn. Stuck to one continent is pretty lame if you ask me. ):

I think Bethesda has set up for a possible other set of games if they ever want it, but they still have a lot to be taken from Tamriel, before they start thinking about putting too much effort into developing lore on other places. We still have a number of provinces to visit with the series, with already established lore, before Akavir or any other continent. However, a Redguard style game set on on Akavir or Yokuda could work. It would e linear, so could occur before the current games, and it would flesh out the lore of the place it was set. I can see a game about the Imperial invasion of Akavir actually, but that's probably not going to be a reality any time soon.

Not knowing much about the other continents adds mystery to TES.

Obviously, but there is a balance to be struck, and in some cases, nothing at all is not mysterious. You need to give enough information to whet a persons appetite, like what has been done with Akavir, Pyandonea, Thras and Yokuda. In contrast, we know so little about places like Cathnoquey that they might as well not even exist.

Exactly. We don't know enough, and it makes me question why they put those there. I think they have lore on it, just haven't released it. :p

My hope is that they have them as reserve locations for games, after they 'exhaust' the main series and the provinces. Would be an interesting discussion for The Future of The Elder Scrolls Franchise, or similar.

EDIT: LOL nevermind. I just realized you made that thread. :P

You should make a thread called "The Future of The Elder Scrolls Franchise"

The Pillar of Thras is a thousand foot tall spiral of coral, which is said to be a portal to Oblivion.
I sorta wanna have a tes dlc get involved with thras a little, especially the tower and maybe fight some sloads, also does anyone have any editional info about the pillar of thras?

People climb up, jump down and seem to disappear right before they hit the cliffs. Some are not so lucky though.

Or rather, those people, or beings, are sacrificed by the Sloads , although the only mention I can recall of it, is in a book about portals to Oblivion (as I'm sure you probably already know).

Yes, forgot about the sacrifice part. :) But the text indicates that also jumping without being a sacrifice is possible, but has really high risks so it is not advisable to try. And it seems that you can communicate with Sloads without being turned into dinner, how could they otherwise have asked the Sload about it? Telepathy perhaps?

Btw, it was one of the best books i've read inside the game.

I'd probably only jump if I really needed to gain entry into Oblivion, and even then, there are a few ways I'd try first. I wouldn't like to fail and land face first on the rocks, although some kind of spell could serve as a back-up Plan B I guess. Anyway, I'm drifting here, so I'll stop.

I would like to see games about the other continents. Perhaps the start of one of them could be that your a sailor on a ship owned by military, mercenaries or just fisherman and you sail to one of these islands.

I could care less about anything to the east, especially those dozen or so protectorates that the Empire seized, and Akavir will probably be forever a mystery or at least for the next decade or two.

But I want to know about the West I see the map, and I know about Thras, and the other islands but save for Yokuda which is which? I'm trying to figure out which one is Thras, I'm assuming the small ones in the center.

On another note, anyone interested in a future game/dlc involving the Sload. Dunno why but I have a fascination with them all of the sudden. Maybe in an VI: Summerset Isles expansion where the Thalmor versus the Sloads.
