Sheogorath's appearance (SI spoilers)

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, so i thought i'd bring it up. In Shivering Isles, we defeat Jyggalag, who is actually Sheogorath, and become the new Sheo. So seeing as the old Sheogorath is now gone, does that mean that Bethesda has created a completely new Sheo, or have they ignored lore and stuck with the old one?
Or is Sheo even in Skyrim? (I REALLY can't see them leaving him out though lol)
Anyway, what does everyone think? Have i missed something?

I'd be disappointed if he didn't have that same epic voice...

That's what i was thinking lol. I'm sure Bethesda would find a way to make it awesome, but it just wouldn't seem right if he didn't have that booming-one-minute-whispering-the-next voice haha.

I can't wait for Bethesda to clear up the Sheogorath mess, although I'll be disappointed if the player from Oblivion remains as the Prince, not only due to the implications it would have for lore but also because it just doesn't make sense for a mortal to become Daedric.

^ I know what you mean, it would be kind of strange wouldn't it? I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.
Also, i'm sorry about the spoiler thing - i'm new to the forums and forgot - i'll make sure i remember in the future :)

I'm not sure what was removed from you post, but feel free to re-add it using spoiler tags:

I agree. I wonder how they'll handle it, but I have a few ideas how I might in their position.

Scenario 1: Beth decides the Champion of Cyrodiil is a canon Imperial male and therefore New Sheogorath is Imperial too.

Scenario 2: Champion of Cyrodiil doesn't have a canon race, but the new role as Madgod has caused the Champion to change appearance into that of the old Sheogorath.

Scenario 3: Somewhere between Oblivion and Skyrim the New Sheogorath has been replaced by a newer Sheogorath for some reason.

Scenario 4: New Sheogorath didn't gain immortality and is now dead.

perhaps the other princes got word that Jyggalag is back and re-cursed him to be Sheogorath again.

in any case the shrines to Sheogorath would still exist, unless Jyggalag (or his supporters) destroyed them.
there would at least be both in skyrim i think...
the Sheogorath shrine with some crystals surrounding it maybe?

or Sheogorath is in fact gone (or does not care for nirn) and Jyggalag has his sphere back and has his shrines and followers in tamriel.
i would like to find out what kind of quests the prince of order would give...
Spoiler:
Jyggalag: Go forth to the Collage of Winterhold's library and alphabetize all the books!

I think the inevitable sheogorath quest would involve his patrens concerned he no longer answers them, with the quest perhaps requiring you to discover what happened. It fits the lore and would bring new players up to speed on the SI events

Judging by the 360 achievement for collecting 15 Daedric artefacts ("Oblivion Walker"), Sheogorath might not even appear (as there are 17 Princes). Unless, of course, two of the Daedric quests don't reward the player with an artefact.

Maybe there's conflicting Daedric quests.

>Helps Daedric Prince out.
>[&@%!] of enemy to said Daedric Prince.

Well there is 17, but i think that the game will miss out Jyggalag and possibly Mehrunes Dagon, like in Oblivion. Would be interesting if there was a Dagon quest though :D

Beth love to shake things up from time to time so I think the real Sheogorath will turn up later and SI will be explained as a joke of his in some future accords of madness edition.

My theory is that over the years, the power of Sheogorath has corrupted the New Sheogorath both physically and mentally to the point that they now look/sound the same as Old Sheogorath.

Sheogorath: "You know, I was a mortal once, like you! Or maybe not like you. Maybe I dreamt I was you, or you dreamt you was me? What were we talking about just now? Oh, never you mind, I've got a job for you."

After all, if mortals can become gods, why can't mortals become Daedra?

What if Haskill gives the player Sheogotath's quest? Sheogorath might have been busy admiring his court dancer's hypnotizing moves.

That made me LOL! I had this image in my head of Sheogorath sitting on his throne saying those exact words

To be fair, communication with Daedric Princes is done via large stone statues. The actual physical manifestation of the Prince is not seen. That gives Bethesda enough wiggle room to come up with something, I'm sure.

Only in Oblivion and Morrowind. In Daggerfall, the Prince appears in a vision.

Granted. I see no reason for Bethesda to deviate from their recent course and bring back Daggerfall's visions though.

Yes, especially considering the recent screenshot of Azura's shrine.

What I've been wondering is if Bethesda sticks to the whole, Jyggalag is back, what happens to Peryite? I know Peyrite was also a Daedric Prince of Order, if a somewhat lesser one. Do they have a smackdown? Who wins?
Or maybe Sheogorath was never really replaced, and the Main Character went nuts and had delusions of grandeur?

Whatever happens, I'm sure Beth will find some way somehow to squeeze in Sheogorath, they know how much of a fan favorite he is.

Peryite was never the Prince of Order. His sphere is disease and the ordering of the lesser Daedra. The only thing that suggests he has something to do with actual Order is a line of dialogue in Oblivion.
