beast races and meat / raw meat which should be better

to me it seems that the beast races should get better bonuses from raw meat and worse from cooked,
for example, a nord eats a raw piece of salmon and gets say 2hp/s for 10s
the same nord then eats a cooked piece of salmon and gets 4hp/s for 10s
a khajiit eats a raw piece of salmon and gets 4hp/s for 10s
same one eats cooked and gets 2hp/s for 10 sec
just seems to make more sense to me that khajiit and argonians would get better bonuses from raw meat given their beastly natures whereas men and mer
would get better bonuses from cooked meat, mer possibly being the exception and getting the same bonuses regardless because they are less prone to poison/disease and have increased resistance, also, men eating raw meat have a chance to get a disease affecting health from eating raw meat, and khajiit and argonians would be immune, mer would just have less of a chance,

Since the process of cooking meat makes the muscle fibers easier to digest, I'd suggest that cooked meat offers a smaller health bonus over a shorter period of time ("Insta-Health", as it were) while raw meat delivers a weaker benefit over a longer period of time, culminating to a greater sum in the end.
Honestly, the words above come off a bit strange when you take my current avatar into account (the beast barely stopped 'moooing' before she cut out its liver).

I prefer this idea.

I always found it strange that people were eating raw meat most of the time in Oblivion. I think cooking it should be required.

The more we go into this - the more it seems like we're getting into the Fallout NV mechanic.
Personally, I would LOVE to see cooking and a hardcore system (hunger, thirst, sleepiness) in the game - I find myself occasionally stopping in a bar to get a fine wine and some food every once in a while (Oblivion) - this would give it purpose.
However - if they were going to include this - I believe it would've been mentioned by now.
Now, what you're suggesting about resistance to disease- that is in-game in Oblivion, as i assume it'll be in Skyrim. Argonians (although i believe this is the only race) have a natural resistance to disease.
I believe Skyrim would be a better candidate for hardcore because, although the desert is arguably just as unforgiving as frigidly cold mountains and whatnot, the map was quite small and a place to buy food and drink never seemed to be far away. With fast-travel, I don't think a single person ever died of thirst or hunger in NV (other than testers)...
I am for removing fast travel and adding hardcore mode. I've seen both sides of the fast-travel arguement, people say "If ya dont like it dont use it" but................... If it's there, it's hard not to use it - sort of like playing split-screen on your TV with a friend - you can say "don't look at my half of the screen" but it's like, you just can't not do it. I dunno..

What has being wild got to do with it?

This is a better way of doing it.

he said

they are beast but its not like wild beast where they eat raw meat all the time is all i meant.

Wild or not. You'd only assume they'd be better suited to eating meat raw. Getting bonuses in that regard makes sense.

All animal have different digestion processes and cats and lizards are suited more to raw meat, so it would be more realistic.

But the Agonians have gills, thats not very lizard to me, to me it just dose ot seem realistic to me, when I see them I dont see them doing that.
They are like Cats and lizards but they are NOT

Well based on what we know about real cats, lizards, amphibians and such and how little we know about khajiits and argonians let's at least assume they like raw meat, or can handle it better.

Well in realty every one eats raw meet in oblivion
But why assume it? why ot just make it where raw meet can make you sick (unless your immune to poison, or something) and what they other guy said
it would "show" the lizards and cats can eat raw meet ok but no bonus, just no posing for them.
'd suggest that cooked meat offers a smaller health bonus over a shorter period of time ("Insta-Health", as it were) while raw meat delivers a weaker benefit over a longer period of time, culminating to a greater sum in the end.
and the posin may just be somethign like Food posion where it takes away some stat and maybe some health.

The reason everyone ate raw meat in oblivion is because they didn't implement any side effects but that could change in skyrim.
And only humans and a few other species of animals actually get sick from raw meat.
So men and certain elves should have a side effects while khajiits and argonians should have benefits.

Why elf's? is there anything that says they should?
I don't see anything that says the beast races eat raw meet, nor anything about elf's
I think a lot of people are taking other games and stuff like LotR and seeing the elf's as "clean" while the beast as "wild"
thats not what I get form Tes its not LotR or any other game or story.
Eh, needless to say I dont agree, but its no big deal

I say some elves get sick while the dunmer and bosmer are unaffected since they aren't all squeaky clean.
And ya fantasy settings draw inspiration from other fantasy settings so some people want to put lotr and skyrim together for a more realistic feel.

I find putting "fantasy" and "Realistic" together funny
Also, Bosmar are canabals, nords are vikings, orcs are... orcs
when it comes down to it most races "could" eat raw meet no problem if we go relsitc

Well you want a limit to fantasy, I really don't want to play a game set in wonder land because it has too little realism.
And diets could effect one if they had it for a while but I'm not sure a Jarl is used to raw meat so he will be effected by the bacteria in uncooked meat.
And realized I have typed the word meat more times on this forum than I have done in any paper I wrote and a made a paper on bacon for gods sake.

thank you, this is what i meant, as well people afflicted with vampirism who eat raw meat should get the "feeding" bonus from it as there is blood in it, i dont think there should be a core or hardcore (hardcore being new vegas sustem with hardcore mode on) i am saying realism, in real life u have to eat and drink to stay alive, and turn up the hunger meter i never got hungry in nv the only thing that was a minor annoyance was thirst
there should be a hydration meter, and hunger meter, and sleep meter in skyrim, or at least the option like hardcore mode,an awesome option like that shouldnt only be in one game... it adds to realism, however, if people use alchemy and healing spells in skyrim, ii still think some should be insta heals and some shouldnt, potions; no potion should have an instant effect all potion effects should be heal over time whereas the cheaper healing spells should be heal over time and the more magicka expensive spells should be insta heals, because it makes realistic sense.
if magic was real and a regeneration spell only took a small amount of energy and made you a little sleepy it would benefit you more then a holy [&@%!] i exhausted myself fully recovered in 2 seconds spell, i think healing spells and fatigue should be linked to the sleep meter, every time u run out of fatigue it should make your sleep meter jump 50 pts, using the FONV system (which i hope they dont but an adapted one) you could run out of fatigue 4 times before you got sleep deprevation level 1, then 4 more times for sleep dep lvl 2(i think it should be 2 more times at this point) it would help people limit the amount of fatigue and/or magicka they spend, honestly tho, magicka use should be tied to sleep deprevation also, because assuming magic is real and scientifically based as it is in ES games, you also have to assume that using it would have SOME consequences, dragon shouts too level 1 dragon shouts should add 10 sleep, level 2s 25 sleep level 3's 50 sleep deprevation, i just think it would be a better way to add a bit of balance, believe me im all for hack and slash until the cows come home, but a balanced system that makes you think, hmmm i can eat this meat, drink this potion, or cast this crazy health spell all for the same effect, but if i let my sleep get too high, im gunna just pass out right here, all im saying is that such awesome things such as hardcore mode, should be carried over and applied to everygame that follows it because it adds a layer of realism, choice, and fun to their games
P.s. sorry this post is here there and everywhere i been gettin drunk since noon and its 2:30 am

my thoughts exactly, and they could use this to help draw the "moral" line between sides in the empire vrs stormcloaks thing they got going on in skyrim

im not saying only khajiit and argonians should have the effects between raw and cooked swapped also, bosmers and orcs it makes sense for, but in my first post i noted that its sketchy for elves because for the most part, raw or cooked u'd think wouldnt make much of a difference, assuming their immune systems are superior to humans (after all they were immortal at one time) but say a high elf eats raw meat and a bosmer (wood elf) easts raw meat it also seems less likely for the bosmer to get sick then the high elf, so maybe they should just make it a "nature" efeect that effects all races but make a few of the races immune (khajiit, argonian, orc, bosmer)
the only things we can eat raw in real life are fruits, and some meats but everytime u eat raw meat in real life its a gamble becuase u can get parasites/etc, i think a random chance to get a "parasite" that effects your attributes (health/fatigue/magicka) would be a nice addition and help make most gamers use the systems they put in place
its really just a matter of preference, more realism, or more being godly and doing whatever you want (killing everything), a hardcore mode, would add to people thinking more of their characters as "people" instead of avatars for mass destruction

also, what about addictions? should these be in game? should u get "addicted" to using magic, to add to the feeling of being a crazy mage whos out of control and has to cast destruction spells?

That makes sense. Bosmer should get bonuses for raw meat as well, seeing as they're cannibals.

I'm pretty sure cannibalism and eating meat raw are two completely separate things.
