In Need Of Some Decent TV Shows

Well, recently I have been watching a few rather good T.V shows. These include:
'The Walking Dead'which is all about a zombie apocolypse, it is actually fantastic. One of my favourite shows.
'Robin Hood' which is kinda self explanatory, not amazing but its one of those easy to watch shows.
'Torchwood' which is a spin-off from Doctor Who. A lot more dark then the Dr, and each season gets more and more interesting.
Problem is...I've watched every single episode for these now and I am in dire need of something new to watch. I have to wait six more days till 'The Walking Dead' season two arrives! six days! ludicrous that is!
So what I am asking is that you post some of your favourite T.V shows that you would recommend for others to check out. I don't care how weird they are, as long as it is no 'Eastenders' or 'Strictly Come Dancing' crap that is more likely to destroy your brain then give you any viewing pleasure whatsoever.
Post away peeps, and cheers in advance.
P.S don't even bother mentioning South Park. I grew up with that show and have watched nearly every episode 100 times.

Well, my all-time favorite is LOST, which I recommend to just about anyone willing to commit. It is the only thing on TV that has ever made me cry. I don't cry a lot... The characters are so well made and complex(well, most of them) and there is great suspense and mystique throughout.
I can also recommend Dexter, Game of Thrones, and for comedy The Big Bang Theory.

I remember watching Lost when it first came out, the first two seasons where really good...then I kinda went off of it. Dexter on the other hand was brilliant, I completely forgot about that show! pretty sure there will be new seasons out since I stopped watching.
Game of thrones is a masterpiece, loved all the conflict in that one. The character depth is outstanding, and once again Sean Bean proves to be one of the best actors that has ever lived.
I'll have to look into Big bang theory... I've seen adverts, but never really paid it much attention.

My 'thang happens to be detective shows, and I'm not talking about not your frowny-serious CSI knockoffs, either. The Murdoch Mysteries, A&E's Nero Wolfe collection, the BBC version of Life on Mars, and Castle.
Hell, I once enjoyed watching The X-Files. The first season, at least. I stopped watching the show right after "Anasazi".

NCIS - Best show ever. No joke, I love that show. I literally have no words to describe it.
The Mentalist and Lie to Me are also great if you're into that genre, but yeah, nothing beats NCIS.
For laughs, although Seinfeld is my favourite, some of the more modern shows like Rules of Engagement and How I met Your Mother are also ones I would recommend.

The X-Files, of course! It has everything from supernatural to wild conspiracies and the lead characters are excellent! It may be a little dark and creepy, but it also has lots of dark humor, making every episode fun to watch. Seasons 8 & 9 are somewhat more slow after a certain thing happens, but they are just as great. And that's enough for my fanatic rambling.

My grannie watches NCIS.
Lie to ME is amazing!
Hmmm... Good shows. Big Bang Theory is a good, as Per said.

The West Wing, band of brothers, and the wire. (But only if you are resiliant to strong language and violence for those last two) They are all very cleverly done, and have very involving storylines and plots.

True Blood, it makes Vampires cool again after the whole Twilight debacle.
(plus there's lots of boobies)
Big Bang Theory, and How I Met Your Mother have already been mentioned.
Watching all 10 seasons of Friends is always fun too.

The Sy-Fy Channel has some pretty good shows like Warehouse 13, but they're moving too far away from actual Science fiction, putting on Wrestling and some 'reality' shows...rather sad that Eureka only has only one more season until Syfy boots them out...

American Horror Story is really good. How often do you see a scary tv show series?

Good suggestions ladies and gentleman.... except for the show friends, that was terrible. You lot should be ashamed of that disgrace to comedy, how anyone found that crap humour acceptable is beyond me.
Come to think of it I must know more T.V then i thought. I have watched a fair few of these shows, mainly because my parent's enjoy/ed watching them and since we only have one decent T.V in the house...
That is not to say I enjoy them all, I find America produces WAY to many cop shows. They are all basically the same show with different terrible actors to follow.
NCIS is a wicked show though, good job on that one.

I'll second Big Bang Theory. I also like Scrubs, though what little I have seen of the last season(s?) is terrible.
But House M.D. is my favorite show by far at the moment. The formula might be a bit to repetitive for some, but I like it. Also has the best dark humor in my opinion.
I like Friends (at least Chandler) though , so...

You sir, have just risen to an insurmountable level of respect
NCIS rules.
Actually, now that I think of it, I do like Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond too. I was just watching ELR the other day, and I had a good laugh when I realised that Marie was swearing fairly strongly in Italian. I guess that's one way to get around the censor.

Doctor Who, The X Files, Torchwood, How I Met Your Mother, Firefly (then the film Serenity), Dollhouse, Misfits, The Inbetweeners and The IT Crowd are all really good shows.
Heck I have quotes from 2 of them in my signature.

I don't actually watch TV often (if ever), but the shows I do enjoy that are running have pretty much already been mentioned. The Big Bang Theory is just classic, especially if you've the slightest pang of nerdom in you, because you'll totally get the jokes...and they're good jokes. I personally think the first few seasons were the funniest, but I don't think it would be too possible for the show to go completely downhill. Besides, the characters are classic.
NCIS is also a good one. I also admit to being a total Law and Order: SVU junkie. I don't know what it is about that show, because it's always so obvious who the criminal is and what their motive is...but the drama just has me hooked. Oh, god. It's positively awful.

Let me just make one thing clear peeps, I am British... no need to recommend Dr Who, that's like a national treasure to us.
