The food thread

You must have known this thread was approaching quickly with my return.
This is a thread to discuss food. What you like or dislike, and why. Whether you like to cook, or to eat out, or to get junk food and laze about on the couch. Your favourite recipes, and the tricks to getting them just right. What kinds of food you like to eat when. All those things.
I'll start:
In a little under 2 months, because I don't trust other people to bake, I'll be baking my own wedding cake. Everything I've always wanted but could never justify. So it'll be a dark, moist chocolate cake (made with both chocolate and cocoa powder), laced with strong coffee. I'll frost it with a chocolate ganache, and lovingly wrap chocolate paste around it. I'll put white chocolate ganache between the layers for the visual appeal and an extra level of flavour. And I'm topping off the cake with more chocolates. White, milk and dark, to finish it off nicely.

First I make Regular Ordinary Swedish Pancakes. Then I fill them with whatever I can find in the fridge or the pantry. Somewhere in the top 10 of my favourite meal list.

Egg sandwich.
So easy to make, but more rewarding to eat than any other snackish product.
I'm eating one right now.

You haven't eaten a brownie until you've eaten a
Swedish brownie. These things are thought of by God, made by angels, left on Thor's windowsill to cool off, and approved of by Poseidon.

Leilah, my sister-in-law made her own cake, and it was not only exactly how she wanted it, but it was pretty darn delicious! I'll have to show you a picture. She took a cake decorating class, though, so it had such a nice, elegant but simple flourish to it. Are you a decorator as well as being a baker?
My newest thing is the sugared blackberry tea cookie. I may have shared this with people elsewhere, but for the good people of UESP, feast your eyes upon
these delicious beauties. In Western PA there is a tradition to have a wedding cookie table, so I made a few batches for my brother's wedding (which was just two weeks ago now!). Mmmm, mmmm!

I just had the most delicious piece of fläskpannkaka. It's basically a large pancake made in the oven - with dices of bacon! Optional ingredients include onions, shredded potato and apple slices.

Why is it that whenever I cook chicken, with the exception of fried, it always comes out dry? My mother can make the best chicken you've ever tasted. Not only is it moist and tender, it actually tastes like chicken, which is a wonder in itself with English food. So why, when I do the same things as her, does my chicken just become rubbish? At least I can still make my signature tomato, beer + chili sauce. That hasn't decided to dry up on me.

I'd be concerned about letting you anywhere near a kitchen if you managed to make a dry sauce haha.

I do not like the idea of eating wild creatures, like rabbits or whatever.

I'm such a terrible cook that I can't even manage to cook with a microwave. I reckon it ties in with my theory that I generate some kind of electromagnetic field that messes with computers and microwave emitters.

I eat them all the time. I like them plain. Have you ever tried eating it right from the package, like without placing it in water or whatever?
