Has anybody heard any news on the blades in skyrim? will they play any part in the game?

I've read or heard that your mentor is going to be the last remaining blade. He's probably going to die, so unless you found them anew at some point during the game, he will probably be the last blade. With no emperor and you being the last of the Dragonborne, there is little reason for the order to even exist, so the order would probably fall apart anyway.

Hopefully you can get an Akaviri katana or two....

I will cry if they dissappear. No joke. I don't care if the repetition of them being in each game is getting to anyone else, I love them.

It's possible that Esbern, the dude you meet and I'm guessing sort of puts you on your path, isn't the single remaining member of The Blades. Perhaps he simply doesn't know of any others still around. Gotta remember that The Blades operated in a fairly secretive way, at least in Cyrodiil, so there could be some left, they just have no way of really connecting. I'm hoping anyway, it'd be a good way to tie the game with Obliv I think, and I like what the Order generally stands for.

The civil war is all about Skyrim's population fighting within itself, some wanting to become independent from the now crumbling Empire, while the opposition wishes to keep the rule of the Empire and I assume help restore it to it's former glory. The Blades are dedicated to the preservation of the Septim line, and their power as the leaders of the Empire. Now that that line has ended, it would make sense that The Blades would turn their attention to preserving the Empire itself, as it is essentially the legacy of the Septims.

I think that they might be yet another secret society/faction in the TES world. Taking the blame for the oblivion crisis would have delt them a sevre blow and they more than likly went into hiding
