Is this the discussion of alcohol and the effects thereof, or a discussion about how painful it is to drink it?

When it doesn't taste like [&@%!], it's some good stuff. That's referring to the limited forms of alcohol I've tried.

Considering the obscene amount of behind the scenes drinking that many at my school partake in I am somewhat amazed that I haven't ever touched the stuff in the 15 years I've had on this earth. Nope, not even at New Year/Christmas/Birthdays. Call me boring but I like to think of it as.... clean.

You have my complete support.

I avoid alcoholic beverages and smoking. No, I'm not religious. No, I don't get sick easily.

Er... I've had alcohol a few times.
Not that much at once, and never enough to get drunk. My experience is limited to a few glasses of wine and a can of Australian ale.

I just don't seem to get why someone would want to drink something that tastes just so god awful, and then feel like crap afterwords? It just seems like a lose/ lose situation

It's a relaxant. A little can relieve stress and actually be good for you.

I'm all for alcohol. As long as you're responsible and know your limits you're in no danger. I never really get
very drunk. That's only happened three times, all of them on special occasions.
I love beer and wine and vodka
It's both the feeling that alcohol gives you as well as the taste. I don't really drink much else than the things listed above. Maybe some shots of something if someone else is buying
@Nate:It's not neccesary to feel awful afterwards. Even if you do get drunk enough to actually have a hangover, there are ways to fight this. The last time I got drunk was at my cousin's wedding this summer. I drank too much, had some marshmellows and hence threw up. However I gulped down some boiled lemon-sugar water and had no hangover the next day. As for the taste...that's just a matter of taste. Some people hate coffee, some people hate alcohol.

Not all alcohol tastes bad. Cider, for example, tastes like a nice bubbly apple juice with a tangy side, assuming it's well made. And it's also a social tool as well as a way of getting knocked out of your own mind.

What constitutes "very drunk"? Properly buzzed or almost passing out?

Just thinking about alcohol makes me want to cringe at how horrible it tastes.

Feeling very light, not caring about what you say and what you do and being on the verge of vomiting.

An alcoholic doesn't get into that situation.

I'm sure some people here would think it's light. I'd say it's a long way past tipsy, to the Superman stage. Ergo, I'm no drunkard.

That's a very good point, actually, mars.
My very drunk is... well, very drunk. Which brings me to something I dislike about discussing alcohol: much like kiss and tell, I don't like to drink and tell, and people who go on and on about how much they drink get annoying after a while. I'm talking about real life, should people here think I'm talking about them.

Chocolate liquor. It's good. Any questions?
