Alduin

Greetings to you

SO! November's on its way, yet it feels so far away, yes? Aaaaaanyway, I was thinking about Alduin, the big cheese in this game, and how little we know about him.

Assuming he actually is the great villain we'll have to kill in an epic way in the end; what kind of villain do you want him to be?

Personally, I'd like him to be the sort of villain you can almost understand, but in the end realize that 'dude, that won't work, sorry but you've got to go down'. Also, I'd love it if he'd have a rich background and some motives.

The absolutely worst villain I know are the ones who just want to kill everything without an explanation. That and the really stupid, cartoon-ish ones.

Now, discuss.

I vote for mysterious. I never want to interact with him directly until I finally hunt him down. I want it to be a mystery of who and where he is and piece together the story as I go.

tragic and lore-rich would be my ideal
I like a lot of back-story, even if it's not all 100% necessary to know for the sake of the game

A mix between lore-rich and mysterious would be great.

The God villain.

This is that type of villain, that does what ever it feels like isn't bound by moral code, yet 100% follows his own code of ethics/Morales to extreme fundamentalism. They're always calm because they accept and view the world as it is (in their own mind by how they view it of course). They're over bearing too and have an attraction to them that almost makes you timid or awe-stricken to be in their presence.

Almost as if they are totally in control. I.E Col. Kurtz in Apocalypse Now, or the Joker in the Dark Knight.

They know what will happen, but they never lose their cool, and even when you kill them you just can't get them out of your head.

If your nickname is "World Eater" then you're probably a real dick who kills for [&@%!] and giggles.

You probably have him down to a tee.

I second this. Sadly I clicked the wrong option. :(

hes a god, I think if you have the power to basically do what-ever you want and are immortal with out any repercussions to your actions, Morales become a moot point.

I assume dragons are basically mindless drones for Alduin. Smart, but "robotic".

there is no proof he really is a God he may just lead them, remember he was locked up and he is sopouse to be "aktosh" and both sides cant be right
I'm thinking he is just a dragon as the nords worshiped all dragons at one time, and they are not God,'s so i dont think he is

I don't think he really is a God in the nine sence just the leader of the dragons it would not be the first time a person was called a
God and was not really

:(

Hmm... Can you imagine the final confrontation:

ME: "I've found you at last, Alduin! Now I must kill you."

Big Al: "K-Kill me? Erm... Why?"

ME: "I can't let you eat the world."

Big Al: "E-Eat the world? What the blazes are you talking about?"

ME: "A-Aren't you the big bad villain that will kill me?"

Big Al: "Me? A villain?"

Wolfie, Alduin is Akatosh. Akatosh is Alduin. The Devs have confirmed that.

link? saying counterpart is not confirming they are the same, and if he is then the nine are wrong as Aktosh was not about this

Beside if this is true then there is a flaw as Aktosh would have to have been impisieond and yet he still go evolved in at least two of the games

Bascily if they do this then there are so many lore holes I really hope either its not true or they make it work but I dont see how

Wolfie, Akatosh is the God of Time. Not the God of Creation. Yes, he created time, but he can end it. The Imperials believe that he started it. That is true. However, the Nords go one further. If he made Time, then he will destroy it and start it anew.

Yeah so one or the other is wrong
Aktosh helps out in Obli and Daggerfall AND aduin looks nothing like Aktosh, I'm thinking what they meant was that Aduin is like
zeus compared to (enter leader God here)
they have the same powers and thats the relijion bassed off not that they are 100% the same

unless you can show me a link.. all ive seen is them saying the nords version of aktosh which would be like me saying vivie is the dark elf version of stptim
they are the "same" but comp[letly defreint beings
after all the kajhit belive its a cat dose that mean aktosh is also a cat?
cause they also said it was a counter part of aktosh

Ever heard of the Trinity? God the Father, Son and Spirit. It is like that.

Also, Akatosh can manifest himself into many different avatars. He could ba a cat, an ebony chair or even a mollusc.

I'll fish out the link.

I'm a christain how ever the Trinity is not ever in the bible we made that our selfs, not to say its not there but Christ never says him and the father are one in the same nor the spirt (kind of like heven never in the clouds, christ was never said to be white, angles never said to have wings, erct)
But I get what your saying, also how do you know he can manifest in defreint avtars?
We know they are God,s we do not know much about their powers

I want him to be like the master from fallout and he thinks what he is doing is right. I swear if Alduin says "What a fool you are. I'm a god! How can you kill a god?! What a grand and intoxicating innocence! How can you be so naive?" i'll die on the spot.

To be fair, didn't Dagoth Ur think that what he was doing was right?

Also, would you gentlemen kindly stop butchering my thread? This is about what type of villain he should be, not what kind of god he is. Thank you.

ill tell you what type of villain, an epic over-bearing event.

His fight should be epic, and he should be like white-gold tower sized.
