I'm hoping for lots of unique items, and a few unique and enchanted daggers for my killings to please Sithis

Oh I'm sure Umbra will be a hammer and Goldbrand a butter knife.
I don't know about artifacts, but I've seen at least one (very beautiful) silver axe.

Just hypothetical, but reckon there'll be a few Norse mythology references thrown around? With the whole Nord thing. I'm just thinking with the release of Thor as a big budget Hollywood blockbuster, maybe there'll be a large, earth shattering hammer found somewhere, you know, in a crater or something =O

Considering that Umbra was a two-handed sword in
Morrowind and then appeared as a one-handed longsword in
Oblivion, I'd think the blade will turn up in
Skyrim as a shortsword or a dagger.
The previous owners were fanatics when it came to the sharpening stone, you see.

Mehrunes' Razor will be one half of a nunchuk.
Daedric quests are confirmed so be prepared for weapons and artifacts that we've seen in the previous games.

-exasperated whine- I want to playyyyyyyyyyyyyy ;_;
I haven't said this yet, but, oh. my. god. I
love the way that characters hold two-handed axes. If that's how characters hold claymores, even my mages will use them
EDIT:

Damn you, Bethesda -_-
Guess I'm going to learn to like the executioner's axe

Where is this confirmed? Can you provide a link?
On the topic of two-handed weapons, I'm fairly certain they stated blocking is disabled whilst dual-wielding.
IMO that's just brutal. "More damage" instead of the ability to block? redic.

No no, by dual-wielding, it's meant one sword in each hand. In wielding a large weapon with both hands, it sounds as though it will be Right Bumper Attack, Left Bumper Blocks again.
No block while dual-wielding is actually pretty stupid anyway, since what Todd said was "one trigger, one function, you can't have it both ways." However, pulling both triggers simultaneously, a function that is used throughout Skyrim, and holding them, could have certainly activated a cross-block, something that's been used by real dual-wielding swordsman throughout time.

Right?
Todd/Pete also said that blocking isn't by just holding block all the time, it's timing. This means there's more depth to combat, taking something from Assassin's Creed perhaps. But this is punitive to folks who like to dual-wield, and simply saying "You can't have it both ways" really is contradicting how Beth is trying to be more accessible, "Playing how you want" and all that rubbish.
Nonetheless, dual-wielding is awesome, but if the combat whilst doing it will have less depth than morrowing or oblivion's, then it's just moot.

That's interesting that timing will be important now. I wonder if it will be/ what the function will be of holding down the Blocking trigger. Maybe bashing with the shield?
I think that's okay, though, that one can't just turtle behind a raised shield anymore, because, coming from actual combat experience, it actually just opens you up worse.
And coming from Oblivion, the fact that shields tended to confer more AC than a cuirass, and, if I'm not mistaken, did allow, in a roundabout way, one to stave off more than the 85% amount of damage due to a high Block Skill, as well as possibly disarm the opponent, etc. shield-and-weapon was on the verge of being pretty bork'd as was anyway.
Nonetheless, dual-wielding is awesome, but if the combat whilst doing it will have less depth than morrowing or oblivion's, then it's just moot.
While a block would be nice, I almost won't care, depending on other things, like max HP, damage potential, potential strength of enchantments, etc.
From Morrowind, there was no way to block with a two-handed weapon, but it worked, because of how keenly damage-to-health was balanced. Unless you had a fully-enchanted ebony scimitar sitting behind a 100 Bock, Ancestor Guardian's dunmer, for the greatest part, two-handed weapons fell even with sword-and-shield, even without a block.
It was similar in Oblivion, especially with a Drain Health 100pts/ Weakness to Magic 100% combo. At that point, even a dagger was sufficient, so the hierarchy, and the blocking with a two-handed weapon, were rendered sufficiently moot.
If in Skyrim, one can't block with two weapons equipped, but can rain successive blows from two weapons enchanted as disgustingly powerful as that Drain/ Weakness combo, I definitely won't care

It might even give fighters a reason to care about their Endurance in that respect.

I'm fairly certain shield-bashing is a perk to unlock, I won't root around for the confirmation though.
But again, dual-wielding means you can't block. It seems bogus. Hell, even OB allowed to block while holding only a one-handed weapon.
What are you supposed to do when holding a spell in one hand and a one-handed weapon in another? Still won't be able to block? Bogus!
Oh wait, Todd said we can now block with a torch.
'yay'.

Better to not get hit than mar your blades...

If the steel battleaxe looks as cool as it does, I for one can't wait to see a daedric battleaxe.

Sword-and-Spell could be even more powerful than two swords, really. I'm already anticipating the lolz of having one paralyze dagger and a damage health something else, rather than needing both effects on one weapon. With creative thinking in mind, giving them the ability to Block could just straight up destroy the game, although I do not like the idea from a realism standpoint.
Oh wait, Todd said we can now block with a torch.
Yeah, I'm gonna pretend like I didn't hear that
Blocking with my sword while holding a torch was just fine, and not retarded, thanks.

hmm, if they introduced dodging, that would solve that problem.
Since they are introducing a new combat system, graphics engine, etc etc etc, it would nice to add that much more depth to combat

Where was I when this happened?
I don't think moving around constitutes dodging.
This is already confirmed to be removed in Skyrim. (Todd: "moving backwards during combat is substantially slower than OB")

It was the journeyman acrobatics perk.

And useless except as a way to put your arrow away without firing it

Oh right...
Sorry, after choosing acrobatics as a major skill, I restarted and changed that after 5ish hours in. Realizing I don't like leveling up that fast.
yes, i know, I jumped around a lot.

These were the quotes from Pete's Twitter that confirm no blocking with duel wield.
he was asked:
@DCDeacon Still wondering about dual wield blocking. It seems VERY silly to not allow the player to block or parry while using two weapons.
And his answer was:
@KeythKirtley can only do one thing when you pull trigger: block or attack. That's the tradeoff. You don't get the best of all worlds
source.

I'd like to see them implement fused weapons through the blacksmith skill. Like a half hammer half axe.
