I saw it announced 55 seconds ago on Facebook - the new Elder Scrolls novel. I have really nothing to add to the discussion, only to express my wish that the series is not considered canon. Perhaps the destruction of Umbriel will put right all the wrongs?

I made this topic so you didn't have to - now discuss, while I go and do some research on the book.

As much as I would not only fully agree with you but even so much as herald the idea that this is just another Knaak of Warcraft (seriously read Richard Knaaks works in Warcraft. This is basically the same thing that is happening to us).

Only, we don't know if this story is canon. Knaaks stories are ALWAYS canon since Blizzard pays him to make stories.

This guy isn't really 'paid' by Bethseda as a canon work, and if they did they would have wanted something relating to Skyrim more than "The world is screwed" song.

But I won't jump to attack just yet; I'm only going to see if Titus Mede falls or Morrowind rising up from the ashes.

This story is canon. The Mede empire was confirmed somewhere.

To quote our friend Sheogorath: "Fantastic!" And I mean that sarcastically, of course.

Don't get to dramatic, all your anger could gone after the second book/or atleast at the start of skyrim. I think most of the "old" order will be restored and the dunmer will get their country back one or another way. This will then be just another piece of history that formed the provinces and their rivalities.

The book has been announced for months now...

The novels are canon, as confirmed by Bethesda. I'm looking forward to Lord of Souls; The Infernal City was left completely hanging.

I'd rather have there be sort of a Cold-War between Argonia and Morrowind, as the Empire loses claim to both territories due to their military gaining stregnth.

But then the Empire tries to incorporate old tricks (Blades, Nation vs Nation, etc) to bring Medeian power full-circle in Tamriel.

That would be good, as well as the Imperial City burning.
