Is there a way to empty the Current Quest page?

I like to put quests on the back burner and wander around the Map a lot, exploring. When visiting a Dungeon, the red quest arrow that marks the exit can be a distraction sometimes.

Is there a way to move the Active Quest back to the Open Quests page? (XBox 360)

you know I had that problem myself with a training quest that was rendered not completable by the dude being dead. Only thing I found that worked is to select another quest and complete it then don't select another quest as active.

If you select the Nirnroot quest for Sinderion over in Skingrad, then the map marker will disappear after you complete the first couple of quests on that. It's what I use when I don't want to be led around by the nose by the quest markers.

I never found it to be that big a problem =/

In fact, I wish there were more custom markers (like the blue one) and that you could even name them. Tons of unmarked places I love but always forget about.

I agree that Oblivion needed more user-defined Map markers. It also needed the ability to toggle the marker graphics ON and Off during gameplay.

I'm on PC, and I use the Darnified/Dark UI mod which allows you to filter map icons on the World and Local maps. You can toggle markers on/off by type, e.g. Camps, Caves, Mines, Forts, Ruins, etc, Known, Discovered, red/green Quest Markers, the blue Player Marker, and even the yellow "you are here" arrow (if you REALLY want to get good and lost)!

I also use the Map Marker Overhaul mod, which adds new markers for Ayleid Wells, Wayshrines, Doom/Rune Stones, Sewers and Player Houses. New markers behave just like the original ones in-game, appearing on the map and compass when you're close enough to them. Oblivion Gate icons change to a greyed out "broken" icon when they're closed. You can add custom named Player Markers, up to 100 in Cyrodiil and 20 in Shivering Isles. You can even rename markers by adding custom named "tags" to them, e.g. Fort Blah Blah can be renamed with a Needs Key tag so it reads Fort Blah Blah [Needs Key]. Only snag is the World Map takes a few seconds to display when there are a lot of markers on it, but that's a small price to pay for all the benefits.

Both mods are available from TESNexus.

Have you completed "The Collector" Quest yet? When I don't want to bothered with quest markers I select that as the main quest. It doesn't have a set marker as you have to find the statue-holding ruins yourself. That should work so long as you haven't completed the quest.

I think we all agree that making a Quest active that has no visible Quest markers is the way to go.

I don't mind them, actually. I usually just ignore them. Although if I DO want no Quest-related markers visible, I have the Dude Where's My Horse mod installed, and make THAT active. If you're on PC, it's a handy addition...

All it does is add an empty Quest with your last ridden horse as the Quest target, so it gets a marker pointing to it that keeps constant track of it if it wanders off or you "forget where you parked". A simple neat idea, sort of like having a magic GPS locator beacon attached to the saddle. And it's a triple-whammy too. 1. You don't have to remember which Quests have NO markers, because 2. you always know WHICH Quest can be made active that forces ONE marker pointing to nothing else Quest-related, and 3. it's a USEFUL marker because it points to your last ridden horse, so you can always find it again.

Hope this helps.
