Being a non-citizen living in the States, I am in a peculiar position where if I make fun of Americans, I'd be making fun of myself, and if I made fun of foreigners... I'd also be making fun of myself. Thus, it is always better to judge by what the hands do than what flag waves above your head.

I would like to point out that every nation in the world has had a violence and hypocrisy filled history. Even Tibet.

and Do you know why we have thae largest debt? ............ Because we were helping other countries. Like isreal DUH
some of those countries were afganistan and cuba
then they turned against us

I think you should all start listening to us moderators and not rushing past us in an effort to post so fast. It's getting annoying and my patience is limited.

That said, don't flame us Americans. I don't appreciate it. If you want to demonstrate what you think about us - negative or positive - please do so with conclusive facts. We are not the only collective body of ideas and thoughts that has wronged the world, and I don't appreciate that we can't have a civil discussion about my country because you're all a bunch of ignorant boneheads.

America is alright I guess. I don't agree with everything they do, but then again I don't agree with a lot my country, England, do either.
If your going to blame them for invading people, blame us to. Thing is it really isn't the citizens fault what the government do, so I don't blame them for it. They would of course been better under our rule, but whatever.... <.<

In a lot of ways they are a lot like us...but overly happy, bad sense of humour, and speak with horrible accents(sorry, most of us can't stand them). We probably seem a lot more serious and depressing but so would you be if you lived on an island where everything looks grey and it rains every other day.

Also, although I don't really like American music that much, they did spawn two of my favourite bands: The Doors, and The National. This gives them a few brownie points.

All in all, America is just another place to me. Every country has it's good points and it's bad, they just get picked on a lot because they are a super-power and the news likes to tell the world about everything they get up to. If you gave any other country that much coverage, then they would be a target to.

Interesting thread. I am surprised it hasn't gone to doggy poo already.

Anyway. I am an American. Actually, my family has been here before these United States.

As for any America bashing, all I can say is that America has saved Europe from itself quite a few times in the last 110 years.

Also, if American might has cost the world a pint of blood, then Europe has its own swimming pool of it.

As for what I think about other Americans? Well, there are a lot of idiots here.

I am interested to hear a genuine opinion based on fact and not senseless finger pointing.

All I hear is a abunch of hatred because we dance better than everyone else. Just learn to accept it. Geez

I'm impartial, i think your government has done some stupid things, and there are some dodgy days in your county's history but whatever.

I vaguely remember hearing that if your government spent 1 million dollars every day since the start of recorded time. (0 BC or whatever, about 4011 years), It would not calculate to Americas current debt. (A very rough estimate but still). I'm not sure if thats right or not but thats pretty incredible.
