Will Pale Pass make it into Skyrim?

Pale Pass is located right on the Cyrodiil/Skyrim border. Here's the UESP page http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Pale_Pass I think it would be awesome if there is a fort called Pale Pass in the southern most part of Skyrim. It would be easy for Bethesda to accomplish this, and maybe they could even have a quest to go along with it that ties in with the quest from Oblivion, Lifting the Vale. There is a lot they could do with that. It would be a very cool addition to the game

Maybe something like: the removal of the Draconian Madstone has unleashed some kind of evil, and you have to return it to the fort to set things right. They could even have the Madstone pawned off from character to character, each thinking the "curse" is only some superstition, and you obtain it off some poor guy who's fled to Skyrim hoping to escape said "curse".

A little Easter Egg reference perhaps, maybe in some random NPC dialogue that refers to deeds done in Pale Pass would be cool. Or an actual quest related to it would be even better.

I seem to remember the actual ruin of pale pass being within Skyrim's border

It'd be pretty cool to have something like that in it. Bring back memories of the quest, right? But I don't think it could really tie in with the quest from Oblivion due to the game taking place 200 years after.

The pale pass has been around for over 1,000 years. It would be very easy to make a quest that ties into the one from Oblivion

Just like Jedi Taters said!

I am sure it will be mentioned. The Akaviri armies had to go through Skyrim in order to invade Cyrodiil.

This might mean that there will be quests similiar to it.

The Pass has been lost for centuries, and the only reason the player found it was because of the Serpent's Trail cave. Unless the fort has become a major archaeological site, most people will have forgotten about it again. Besides, the fort was already on its last legs 200 years ago. It will be nothing more than a pile of rubble buried under snow. I think if they're going to include an Easter egg for it, the Ring of Omnipotence or the Draconian Madstone should be turned into artifacts instead.

maybe a quest to recover artifacts from the crypt of the countess who collected them in the ruins of Bruma Castle.

She is now a lich and uses some of the items

you could get there via a mage guild teleport to the ruins of the Bruma mages guild

i think a lot of Cyrodiil is will be in ruins by now btw

I doubt Cyrodiil will be in ruins, if Skyrim and Morrowind made it so can Cyrodiil.

What I would like to see is an easter egg, such as a note "written by the player from oblivion" which is gloating about the fact they made it past the Skyrim border.

Yeah i would like to see somthing to do with it.

Talking of Oblivion I wonder if from Skyrim you can see the White Gold Tower of the Imperial city.

I would a reference to Pale pass in Skyrim. A quest would be nice. Like: You need to go to pale pass to recover the draconian mad stone but when you arrive its gone

An interesting idea, I never even thought about Pale Pass even though it was one of my favourite quests early on (around level 3). I like how the Countess' aide seeks you out and all. I would like to see a reference to the Oblivion PC and the quest in Skyrim. Seeing as it is a Pass there is a Skyrim side and a Cyrodill side so perhaps we might rediscover the pass from the other side in a similar quest? But then, who's gonna have time to explore with a civil war going on? (and hopefully tonnes of factions to join/explore)

It might make sense for their to be an official presence at the pass again, as it would be a good location to get news about what's happening in the crumbling Empire. Possibly even one of the anti-Empire factions could have seized it in an attempt to turn back travellers trying to get to Skyrim?

I'm not sure about seeing it as an explorable ruin, as it was in a bad state already, and didn't really have much left. Though another possibility could be that a group of bandits from Skyrim have set-up shop though, searching for the Draconian Madstone, not knowing that it had been recovered for the Countess of Bruma already. Or even more unusual; a dragon could have taken up residence there, searching for the artefact itself, with some kind of quest attached, perhaps to slay it to prevent it attacking people trying to enter or leave Skyrim?

Thought I should bump this topic instead of making a new one. I am forced to eat my words, as a translated map has confirmed the inclusion of Pale Pass.

Indeed, in the map in the Russian language from the ElderScrolls.net website that I was given to translate by AKB, Pale Pass is present in the south. It is named "Белый проход", which is the name given to Pale Pass in the Russian version of Oblivion. :) That is why, intrigued to discover it, I marked it on my translated version.

I'm really happy that Pale Pass is included!

Maybe they could let you go to the Serpent's Trail cave. Like somebody said, it could be used as a hidden outpost by the Stormcloaks. Or maybe it's infested by monsters. In that case, the player could fight their way to the end of the cave, only to find out that the final part before the exit has collapsed.

Looking at that map, I see various red crosses about the place, what exactly do you think they represent?

But on topic, I am glad pale pass has been included! I hope there is some reference to oblivion and something better than an invisible wall to stop you going to Cyrodiil, and likewise with the Dunmeth pass to Morrowind and Haafingar roads to Highrock.

I was wondering that too. When I saw them I was excited because they reminded me of those on Morrowind's map that marked out ship wrecks. Perhaps these also mark our treasure of some kind? Maybe word walls, or ruins? All I can say for certain is that as soon as I get Skyrim, I'm heading for one to find out

There is one just below Riverwood I have just noticed, which in relation to the demo at Eurogamer, is about where you start or just to the left of it. There was a Talos shrine just to the left if I remember. Could be shrine locations? Then again there were many caves and bandit posts as well. I think I will do the same and rush off to find out! 8)

On the map you'll notice a trail through the mountains just above the "Pale Pass". Possible unmarked roads within that direction. Maybe a second madstone quest.
Once i get my character beefed up , this will be one of my planned journeys.
