What should be brought back?

what would you like to see make a return, in Skyrim, from previous TES games?
I would be pleased if Beth brought back the darkbrotherhood from oblivion and perhaps the morag tong.
also some effects like umbra, mehrunes razor, shrouded armour and the deadric cresent.
also i hope they bring back Wes Johnson (the voice of imperials) cuz he's just plain cool! he should do the voice of a single important npc though... not the whole race. Oh and lots of lorebooks! both new and old, perhaps lore that hints at the actions of your character in oblivion and relates to the invasion itself.

The Grey Fox and the Thieves Guild. All I need, really.

ALL kinds of werecreatures. And more weaponry like spears (which ought to be very effective against dragons).

Crossbows!!!! And all other weaponry from Morrowind. Especially pole arms and throwing weapons. The ability to enchant things your own damn self. But more betterer than in Morrowind. Non-walled cities. Stuff like Raven Rock, building your own little community (around a manor, maybe?) from scratch. Horkers, Bonewolves, Draugr, and all of those shiny Solthsiem creatures. Nothing from Oblivion that I can think of at the moment.

Mark and recall, 'nuff said I think
If i think wrong, I feel that many people tended to need to go all the way back to a particular location (Chaydenhall Brotherhood sanctuary anyone?) where it was tedious to enter when a simple mark and recall could alleviate a lot of that repetition.

there is going to be enchanting definately!(from looking at the screenshot for magic types), keep the important towns that are as big as Skingrad and the Imperal City walled while others with no walls, a bunch of settings that switches stuff on-off like "blips on compass" and "fast travel" that sort of thing, and keep some of the good old Gamebyro look that Oblivion had if possible.

What can be brought back from old games.....
Oh, i know! The awesome and engaging kind of main quest that they had in Morrowind and forgot to add to Oblivion!
And books. The long ones that have several volumes, like The Real Barenziah (still my favorite!).

Yes Skyrim will have enchanting, because "enchant" skill will make a return.
What should have been brought back is non-scaled leveling, 27 total skills (at least), levelling system with classes, Morag Tong (if, of course, they still exist 200 years in the future). Solstheim.
But, sadly, everything from this list of mine not gonna happen (and it's official)

how about both the brotherhood and the morag tong, and you have to chose sides making one guild your enemy and the other your family. then aside from the main guild quest there could be quests where you have to assassinate members of the opposing guild/evade atempts on your life.. that would be more interesting than just checking in with the night mother once every week right?

I'd like to see some kind of skill progression needed to move up in factions like Morrowind had. I didn't like how you could be the Arch Mage in Oblivion while only knowing the fireball spell that you started off with.

That's a great idea. I think that the rank of Arch-Mage should require 100 in at least one Magical skill.

The way
Orintur and
Eilonwy talk about each other
("Perhaps it seems silly, but our love is the most important thing in all creation..."), it feels like Bethesda's setting up a tragic or ironic sequel in Skyrim. I'm left to wonder what it might be: a rescue/recovery mission that tugs at the heartstrings, or a divorce case— Dark Brotherhood style.

Hahaha, this made me laugh. "Until death do us part" indeed...

Knights of the Thorn or Knights of the White Stallion in an expanded role. It would be cool to see one of those upstart or joke guilds from Oblivion, but have them grow much more powerful in the 200 years between games. Order of the Virtuous Blood, anyone?

Or maybe all of those weird guilds from Arena like The Order of the Clock or whatever the hell they were called. I'm guessing I'm way off here but I remember it was something about clock or time or some such. I can see the ORder of the Virtuous Blood being included and involved in both werecreatures and vampires, since at least werecreatures seem to have been confirmed. Not in the GI article, but in an interview or something. I'm not sure, but I do hope.

I thought there was a topic in here listed as along with this one about "What would you NOT want to be brought back". And for that geeze I'm hoping there is no graphics bug at so many hours that start to freeze the game like in Oblivion once you reached 300 hours of gameplay. It really sucked to start a new character once you had one maxxed out and wanted to complete 100 percent of game.
Just my 2 cents though,
emp.

-"Spear" and the "Unarmored" skills from Morrowind. "Enchant" will be back, I guess.
-Custom classes.
-Ability to be anything that you want, just like Oblivion.
-The uncensored version of Barenziah's story from Daggerfall (seriously

).
-Speaking of Barenziah, Books from previous games would be nice.
-M'aiq the Liar.
That's all I can think for the moment. I Might add more...........

This isn't so much brought back as following on but I would love to see books describing the actions of 'The Hero of Kvatch' who mysteriosly vanished before the events of Skyrim. I would love to see a quest where you find a note written by an ancestor which leads you on a treasure hunt to a set of Imperial Dragon Armor. Then if you piece together the clues after reading the books as well you can work out that the Hero Of Kvatch is in fact an ancestor of yours. It could even go so far as for them to keep giving you clues which help you along the story line.

Yes. And levitation (a TES game without hoverpants just felt incomplete!)!

All of Morrowind's weapons, including the crossbows, spears, and throwing weapons. Nuff said there.
Levitation (from Morrowind). Oh god that was some hilarious stuff.
Crazy potions and enchantments that can even be hazardous to the player (from Morrowind).
Bring back both the Morag Tong, and the Dark Brotherhood. Both of them.

I want the Amulet of Shadows from Morrowind! That thing literally changed the way I thought about and played the game. MArk/Recall is a definite thing I want and need. And I agree, all weapons should be brought back, there were some awesome ones. All artifacts from the other games as well.

Primarily what was removed from Morrowind to Oblivion. Vampires almost have to return (though it would not be out of character for vampires to be somehow completly destroyed ((see dwarves))) so I would not worry. Be cool if they would be as interesting as Morrowind though with all the vampire specific quests. I just do not want the simplification that was rampant in Oblivion. I am worried though since I heard the skills are again even less numerous (besides just axing mysticism)
