I just bought a copy of Morrowing for PC on eBay, and I was wondering if anybody could give me a few reviews for the game, so I know what I'm getting into.

Thanks.

If you mean plain game reviews, I suggest you make a search
Morrowind review... you'll get half a million results. But if you mean more in-depth, you may want to take a look at
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind. You may also have the .pdf Manual on your disk, explaining the basics.
And installing, here's a good guide (you should install patches):

Anyways, welcome to the Forum.

If you're looking for unbiased reviews, an Elder Scrolls forum is probably not the best place to look.
On that note, Morrowind for PC is definitely a must-buy for anyone into excellent open ended RPGs. I also recommend scanning through the wiki, lots of good information there.

But not TOO much, as you don't want to ruin the game for yourself.
Also, I notice you play Oblivion. Assuming you're familiar with Oblivion and you're moving backwards in the series (much as I did) I suggest these pages:
Starting Out
Morrowind For Oblivion Players
The second, especially, is important so you'll understand the differences in how Morrowind works compared to Oblivion, and what sorts of things you need to think or worry about whilst playing. For example fatigue is basically a meaningless stat in Oblivion (mostly) but it's the entire backbone of Morrowind. Everything you do in Morrowind, from casting spells to bartering with merchants, relies on fatigue. If you're tired spells won't work, weapons won't connect (despite seeing the sword slice through their skull), and generally the game will be harder.

It also doesn't hold your hand at all. Tells you all the stuff you NEED to know (moving around, opening things, etc.) lets you pick your class and race, and that's it. It actually wishes you luck. After that you are on your own.
In my opinion it is not only my favorite RPG but my favorite overall game. I've poured hundreds and hundreds of hours into it, and I still play it quite a bit.
And Vivec's Tears was right, this probably isn't the place if you are looking for an unbiased review. But we will have no problem telling you how awesome it is.

You could always make a "Review Morrowind" over in the Oblivion section to get the other half's opinions if you want neutral opinions. Morrowind seems to be hit and miss amongst prior Oblivion players. It was a hit with me, obviously, but a lot of people don't care for it. It actually took me a long time to get into it and get past all the "shortcomings" of how the game worked. Another suggestion I have is, if you can't seem to enjoy it, take a break for a week or so and try again. I didn't care for the game the first two times I played, but something clicked the third time I tried which was a few months after I'd first gotten it.

Very good idea, Cactus.

I took the liberty to start review topics for both Morrowind and Oblivion. All by the grace of your creativeness. I must say, one of the best ideas I've come across here. Cheers, m8.

Those threads are not the same: Morrowind Reviews was somebody asking for links to reviews on Morrowind. Review Morrowind is a thread where players can review the game themselves. And Starting out is pretty self-explanatory.
