Since the opening of the Skyrim forum we have seen a massive rise in post flooding. These posts generally consist of nothing but one line responses that add little to no value to the discussions. This we find is unacceptable, as all responses in this forum are of no immediate value to someone with a problem. Mainly due to the fact that Skyrim is an entire year away, and we have no information other then one video and some blog/twitter announcements.

I will now give you examples of what we consider as spam/flood posting:

'That would be cool' - Extremely spammy post.

'I would love there to be vampires' - An example if the topic was about vampires.

'I agree with this' - In response to what someone else put down. If you agree, at least make a descriptive post about why and how you agree. Then add something of your own.

Stuff like this just adds no value to the conversation and as we see it is against forum rules, which I shall now quote from:
No Spamming - No commercial posts, advertising, or post flooding the forum with useless content. Replies and comments to increase your post count will be deleted.
And another:
Read the whole topic before you respond – this just makes it possible for you to give a more educated response, and ensures that you won’t make a suggestion or ask a question that has already been put forward by another member.
As you can see, what I have talked about is already in the rules. Please read them before posting anything. You can find them in the Announcements at the top of the page, or here: The Forum Rules

===================================================================

Spam posting is not the only thing that has come to our attention. There is also the case of people creating Duplicate Topics. It is annoying when someone creates a topic that has already been made, after all it does not take that long to search through the topics titles to see if it has been done before.

Common sense comes into play here aswell. For example let's take a topic about Dragons, surely after the first day a topic would have been created about these mythical beings would it not? especially seeming as they are the main 'feature' that makes this Elder-Scrolls different to the others in the series.

Here is the forum rule about Duplicate threads:
Duplicate topics – If there is a topic that is the same as the topic you create within the first two pages of a forum, your topic will be considered a duplicate topic, and will usually be locked and referred to the existing topic. Please check before making a new topic.
===================================================================

So in conclusion we ask that you think about posting in future. Any posts we consider to be spam will be deleted, and and topics that are the duplicate of another will be locked. Help us moderators(and volunteers at that) out by refraining from doing these things in the first place. If you do not abide by the forum rules you will be contacted and warned by one of the moderating team.

Remember: "Quality Over Quantity"
