This was the original post for this thread under the name, "Isolation: Burgeoning Billfolds".
Spoiler:
This is it, you finally made it out of The Solar System.
It's time to see what's out there.
The captain of the tramp freighter you booked passage on from Armstrong Outpost on Luna
indifferently orders you to take your luggage and get the hell off his ship.
As you and several other individuals take your first steps into the light of an alien star,
you and your companions are astounded by it's unequivocally bright albedo.
You watch as the freighter eclipses the mild radiance of the white dwarf hovering just outside New Okinawa's circular orbit.
The young white main sequence star bathes you in a healthy and welcoming glow,
as if it understands your anxiety and excitement and wishes to make the extra-solar transition as casual as possible.
Within a few minutes your small group arrives at a shiny step pyramid like structure much like the other various office
buildings within walking distance of the small spaceport you arrived at. It has rounded edges with grooves and channels
cut into the metallic polymer, obviously created to gather rainwater.
A few seconds pass, spent marveling at the environmentally friendly and pragmatically beautiful architecture,
when before you know it you are blasted by state of the art air conditioning and decontamination systems.
As if the universe is conspiring to over stimulate your senses, a large robotic arm with some sort of laser scanner
extends out of an otherwise solid wall of marble inlaid with with silver and gold, giving the room a feeling of
Roman exuberance with a Cyber Punk flair.
The terminal scans the room briskly, then retracts back into the wall, which is revealed to be a hologram of
sorts by the fluid motion of its surface. Had you not seen it for yourself you wouldn't believe it was even there.
Suddenly you receive a message notification on your cyber-optic heads up display.

Take some time to come up with your characters.
Three rules apply with character creation:
1) They must originate from Earth or somewhere in the Solar System.
2) They must be human, mutants are okay as long as you can make them believable.
3) They must have a definitive personality.
Three rules about the roleplay itself:
1) I am the game master and originator of this universe,
and if you have a problem or a question about the lore feel free to PM me.
2) Please use proper English grammar in OOC. If your character has an accent or something that's fine,
but otherwise we're doing this Merriam Webster style.
3) This roleplay is going to be fairly loose but I promise it won't be total anarchy.
Unless that's the current scenario, then there will be molotovs for everyone.
And on a last note, feel free to make up some of your own lore for your character's back stories.
I've got plenty of ideas but I'm open to suggestion and want you to feel like you have ownership of your PC's.

By popular demand this Roleplay has been transformed into a Mass Effect themed adventure.
If you are not at least somewhat familiar with the Mass Effect series I would suggest GOING OUT AND BUYING BOTH GAMES AND ALL THE DLC.
The setting will be Eden Prime shortly after Saren and Sovereign's Geth attack.

Decryption(Computer Skills) Neural Acceleration(Dexterity, Agility, or Reaction Time) Stealth(How capable you are at hiding or sneaking) Endurance(Pretty self explanatory) Strength(Again, obvious) Mechanical(Engines, weapons, ancient alien door mechanisms, that sort of thing) Biotics(If you don't have them don't put points here) Medical(First aid, and potentially revolutionary plot items if you put enough points here)
As we go along I'll do my best to simplify this system that I just came up with
(It's eerily similar to KotOR now that I think about it) off the top of my head,
and I'll decide your final stats and bonuses as you post your characters.
And not everyone has to be a biotic.
Wouldn't want a Cerberus strike team trying to harvest our merry band of it's organs now would we?

Alright, I'll tally up your character stats later today.
In all honesty though, you might want to set your skill points to be a little bit more well rounded.
Especially in Decryption, you can't go five meters without running into around twenty computers in the Mass Effect universe.
Generalno1, thank you for your bill of confidence, /sarcasm
Veck, maybe, maybe not.
Also, I'd like to keep the character origins to Citadel Space.
It's not mandatory, but it would make it a lot easier to work into the story.

I'm sorry if you are slightly taken aback by your skillset numbers, but I've decided to make a level one skill cap of 10.
That way your characters are more well rounded and capable, and none of the skill checks are going to be over 10 this early in the game.
I've also adjusted skill levels based on the extra information you have provided, IE enhancements, education, and personal history.

Gerdon stepped down from his ship. And breathed deeply, The air smelled like ash and dust. He was at the right place. He was initially curious as to why they would send him to investigate an attack on a colony, a human colony no less. But it was'nt his place to ask questions. Besides, he needed something to do.
He walked a few steps toward the dig site keeping his hand on the pistol he kept on his side
Spoiler:
I have'nt played ME 1, is my view of the landscape correct?

Blood Rage: Increases health regeneration and increases damage at the cost of accuracy and cognitive ability.

Kara looked out across the burned horizon of Eden Prime, and began strollin across the landscape. In the distance, she could see strange metal spikes with humans impaled in them, and there were traces of a metallic liquid littered across the scorched ground, this synthetic blood melding with the crimson lifeforce of the men killed in the battle. As she walked past a rock crevice, she spied the bodies of the Volus and mercs she was working with. They had been slaughtered by the Geth and left to rot. Sighing, she proceeded with her wandering, unsure of her direction.
Spoiler:
Are we ever going to fight each other? Because if Mass Effect on Insanity has taught me anything, it's that you don't pick a fight with a Krogan Battlemaster.

Tim got off his ship and immediately smelled the air, ash and fire. He started to regain his thoughts, when a huge Geth ship passed by. He hid, hoping not to be seen. When it was gone, he got up, and noticed an Asari in the distance.
"Greetings! I suppose you're here about the dig site, too?"

Korzin walked through the ruins. There must have been a spectacular battle that took place here. Just seeing the aftermath of a massive battle like this made him want to kill something. Fortunately for Korzin, there was a survivor nearby. Thinking he was the only one there, Korzin grabbed his shotgun and fired a round into the human's head, finishing him off. "Pathetic human," he said as he continued to search through the ruins.

Gane froze as a nearby shotgun blast rattled the air around him. His face, covered in white paint, suggested his surprise. He quickly ducked down behind a small group of rocks while simultaneously pulling his Armax assault rifle from it's position on his back. Gripping the weapon firmly, he peeked out from behind cover. A typically enormous Krogan stood above an unarmored, seemingly unarmed human; fresh, red blood covered the ground. Gane sent a short message to command, requesting assistance. He then positioned himself next to the rock, on his stomach, so that he had a clear view of the Krogan. He readied his weapon and took aim, prepared to open fire if necessary.

Tim was about to walk off, when he heard a shotgun blast nearby. Curious, he went to the source. A large krogan stood, holding a shotgun, and a human, freshly killed, was on the ground.
"I suppose you killed that man? Killing weaker people is cowardish." Tim pulled his pistold from the holster, and held it up to the krogans head.
"Shall i give you mercy? You would not have given me any."

"Mercy is for the weak," Korzin said, audibly annoyed. He started to walk away, but added, "I suppose you're right, though. I probably shouldn't have killed the human." Only then did it become obvious that both the survivor's legs had been torn off.

Sairus stood there, glad to have what he wanted. He began to walk away, when suddenly he noticed a figure about to take a shot at the Krogan.
"Watch out!" Tim yelled. He quickly shoved the Krogan out of the way, and a searing pain hit his hip. The man fired a round at the Krogan, and it had hit him. He laid on the ground in shock, and suddenly it hit him. He used his healing aura, and quickly recovered.
"You okay? You would have been dead."
