Am just doing the "Arrow of Extrication" Thieves quest.

I know they call it a "Giant" Slaughterfish, but after I'd killed it, I found it had even swallowed an oar!! ..... as well as rather a good assortment of creatures that had left some nice loot behind after rotting away in the fish's stomach!

I know that thing is awesome, the cloak in it's belly is awesome! Fighting it is pretty tough too, I just did hit and run(swim?) attacks through the hole/entrance at the top.

When I did the quest, I had the Jewel of the Rumare, and it helped quite a bit, since it provides water breathing on self.

Anybody ever come across an enormous mudcrab?

I did in some random cave in the middle of night...running along when suddenly my torch illuminated a mudcrab a dozen times bigger than a normal sized one. Scared the CRAP outta me. Died really easily still though, heh.

I've seen that mudcrab. I'm not sure if it's hostile though.

I love how an item that is so powerful and useful is available just like that. It's so... unnecessary. Give us a challenge, eh, Beth?

Greenmead Cave. On the Gold Rd, 1/2 way between Lake Rumare + Skin.

Did you know you can kill it with your bare hands? It is huge, but it still has the health of an ordinary mud crab. ;)

You get attacked by big fishy when doing "Arrow of Extrication"? Sheet, i never saw any fishy when i did that... Is the part where it resides a part you'll have to go through to get through the cavern system? If it is i guess i've just been too oblivious when playing... I tend to be that.

I know. As you can see in the movie, only one shot with the bow was necessary :D

Do you recall the water area in the dungeon? Rather than go the usual way that leads to the tower, go down the passage to the right and you'll hit deep water (beyond which is a dead end room with a Dremora as I recall); descend the depths and voila, through the hole you'll find a fish guaranteed to require a sack of potatoes for adequate chip portions. (Click for pointers) It scared the crap out of me. I mean, I hate deep murky water (for real) as it is so I'm loathed to go in the sea in Oblivion but this thing nearly gave me a stroke. Slaughterfish are pants but this thing is big. 'course, first time I came across it I drowned trying to get the hell away from it. XD It is easy to miss though since it's off the direct pathway to the tower.

That mudcrab is quite cool, must remember to check out Greenmead sometime and give it a poke.
