Last level up!

Hi everyone!

I brought my oblivion character to level 30 with all attributes at 100 except luck (luck is at 55).
Now, what will happen at my next level up? Will I be able to level up or not?

Thank

You'll be able to put a point in Luck, but that's it.

As Stormscape said you'll be able to buy a point in luck. But at this point you should stop leveling as there is nothing (aside from a point of luck) to gain from it and it will make a select few enemies harder.

Are you sure? I mean: I usually have to choice 3 attributes at each level up. Now only 1 attribute can be increased...

That's my purpose, but I also want to increase all my major skills to 100... So I think I will have to level up...

Easy way around it. Don't Sleep, if you want to pass time wait if you are an avid roleplayer go next to a bed and wait. Only draw back is that annoying symbol on the lower right hand side of the screen.

I don't think that many enemies get much harder after level 30, honestly.

Maybe some quest bosses like Mannimarco or the Blackwood Company leader, but beyond that I think everything tops out at level 21.

I could be mistaken though.
But I don't think so.

Also your health will still increase everytime you level regardless of which attribute you up.

Gloom Wraiths, Minotaur Lords, Goblin shamans and Warlords as well as some others level with you indefinitely and they gain thirty hitpoints per level so it isn't exactly a fair exchange at this point.

You can just lower the difficulty.

Very True.

Another thing you could do, is level everything to 100 with out sleeping, then when you do that sleep once, and level up put the point to luck, and the symbol is gone, and being 31 isn't going to be that much harder than 30, after that it should be impossible to level up.

No it would still be quite possible to level up depending on how many times he raises his major skills.

This would not work because the levels would 'stack', if he had gotten 60 major skill level ups since his last sleep he would level up 6 times and all the assosicated things that go with it, just take the (possible spoiler ahead) oghma infinium (sp?) that can get you up to 3 lvls at once. But theres no problem with being a high level, i consider my 'max' level to be 50, at that level my health is so high most enemies dont even dent me, you could just keep leveling until u run out of levels (from major skills or attributes). My health only drops too low if i get swarmed which i try not to let happen.

So how would you exit from the level-up screen, which doesn't activate the 'exit' button until 3 attributes are selected, which is impossible, since there's only one remaining attribute?

It lets you level after only adding to one stat if all you have left is one.

There's no great harm in continuing to level. You'll gain more health every time, and I found after level 30, nothing bothered my character much since he has such high health. If you only have one attribute left, it will let you exit the screen after you raise that attribute. I've been at that point for many levels already, and not run into any issues. It's actually kind of freeing to not worry so much about leveling (or not to) any more.

I honestly don't see the big deal about leveling on this game. I got in a big argument on the xbox forums about this and I ended up leaving because the guy who was posting against me basically pulled veteran-status on me and had all his friends agree with him. But honestly, if you are playing the game, you have a difficulty slider for a reason. I prefer the scaled leveling on this game as opposed to Fallout 3's. Fallout 3 is too freakishly easy on Very hard mode once you hit your mid 20s, and once you hit 30, it's just ridiculous.

As long as you level up the right way(meaning, level up according to what your kind of character is and make sure to increase the right skills).

^NO I DO NOT IN ANY WAY MEAN EFFICIENT LEVELING...although it does work.

Right now my current character is level 51 and I used the felldew exploit since if I would have leveled up further without it, I would have gimped my character. With the exception of Personality, all of my stats or at least 110 or better(strength is at 157 because of my equipment).

However, without the glitch, my character would have ended at level 41 with all stats fully maxed but I still would have had skills under 100.

So really, leveling up is a matter of taste. If you like getting better items and taking on creatures with the best equipment that the game has to offer-hitting your maximum level whilst continuously getting high bonuses on 3 attributes is the way to go.

If you want to just beat the game-stay at level 1.

If you want to at least be able to see everything on the game, -hit level 25 or 24 and don't worry so much about your build since enemies will hardly be much of a pain.

The only serious drawback that I can think of is that at max endurance you gain 10 points to health each level while all the major enemies* gain 30, which means they can easily out match you in a long fight

*Stuff like goblin warlords/shamans, ogres, minotaur lords. All the end game monsters

It's not just their health. Their attack/etc. stats will also increase. So overall it'll make them tougher while the only thing you get is a bit more health (and they get more).

It is possible to max out all your attributes at level 25-30. You can then raise all your skills and by simply not sleeping you won't ever level up.

I've had one level 50 character and I'm going to create a new one in two weeks time (new computer :D). If you use efficient levelling and get some decent equipment, it's a lot of fun. Even on higher difficulty settings.

Yes but unlike Gloom Wraiths, Minotaur Lords, and Goblins, your character can outfit themselves with enchanted weapons and armor to counter whatever upgrades they may get.

Ah but after level 30 there is no better equipment. Not to mention goblins and minotaurs use weapons.

Yes but you can always find or make better enchantments.

Not true, after a certain point you have the best equipment possible. Admittedly I usually start a new character long befor then due to my chronic restartitus.

i have found it ridiculous that i can, at level 36, sink literally 20-40 ebony arrows from a perfect madness bow (including several sneak X3's and lv 100 master app. poisons) into a troll before he (or I) dies even on normal difficulty. i found a pretty good solution to that which could help on most weapons at higher difficulty/levels: transcendent sigil stone damage fatigue. knocks most down in a couple hits, not counting 75 and 100 mastery perks.
