I've heard talk about it but never experienced it myself and I probably had 500 hours logged on my first character to beat the SI main quest.

I think what you are talking about could be the Reference Bug. I don’t understand it fully myself but I do know it can really affect your game as it removes any new items or npcs from the game when you reload. The bug can effect save files with over 100 hours of playing time (a lot less if you have Shivering Isles or mods) but the latest official patch fixes the problem. For more information about the bug see it's Wiki page.

That’s not a bug; you just damaged the C.D. too much . . .

Yeah I have played at least 1500 hours plus of this game and I have never run across this problem. However, I must know 1 thing: is this the same as the a bomb glitch?

I don't know what the bomb glitch is. What does it do?

Is this on one save file or multiple? The Reference Bug can only affect individual saves.

So if you have 5 save files and you have played around 25 hours on each then you would have no chance of any of them getting the Reference Bug. But if you played on one of them for 75 more hours than that one save could get the bug whist the others are not affected.

But also remember that the Reference Bug is patched in the latest version of the official update, which includes the X box 360.

That can't be true. I've been playing for just about all the three years Oblivion has been out. I can't even conceive the ridiculous amount of hours I've played. I have over 3000 saves easily.

well if its true its a glitch because I have lived 10 in game years (in prison) but that was last year when I checked. Probably even more years now

Real-Time hours. >.>

IE, pouring 500 hours of your life/electricity into the power hungry beast we all know and love called Oblivion.

Also, it probably isn't a glitch. You're computer acting weird when it's hard drive space is nearly full or it's handling too much isn't a glitch. When it comes to 500 hours Oblivion has just made to much for itself to keep track/handle so it becomes like the A-Bomb.
