I've got through to the Dome of Udok but I can't activate the bridge. I'm strong enough to depress the control lever but nothing happens!

It seems to me that this must be a game bug. There is nothing else to do in this room and all the walkthroughs say that's what you do.

Does anyone know a console code to make it happen or something?

What does it say when you pres the lever thing? What should happen is that the bridge extends as normal, if you're strong enough to press it.

Another option is to collect the fortify speed potions from the other machines and use them to jump the gap. It can be done with a very high speed score.

It doesn't say anything. Nothing happens when I press the lever in.

I suppose I'll have to try and use my big hoptoad spell again. Ugh!

I hate these quests where you have to splat yourself again and again until you get lucky

splat? use spell jump and then use slow fall. you won't get hurt that way.

Good idea, I hope you have the spells on hand.

dont you have any long lasting levitate spells or potions???
