If you could add anything to Oblivion - What would it be?

Greetings to you.

Like the title says, what would you add in Oblivion, if you could? You may, of course, post several things.

What I'd like to add is; Alot of new spells, maybe even more spells than Morrowind, I mean, come on, we've all felt that there are too few spells in this game. Another thing is alternative endings...at least one evil and one good. Lastly, more factions.

Not unusual but that's what I miss in this game, now it's your turn

Unlimited Arena Battles.

I liked the Arena Battles...

well you CAN actually fight beasts afterwards...Though unlimited arena battles vs humanoids would actually be rather fun.

There are unlimited arena battles, but they're against creatures, not NPCs. After you become the Grand Champion, if you talk to Ysabel you can choose to fight them, once a week.

Levitation! :D

Levitation is a nice idea actually, I mean...it wouldn't mess up the game that much would it? I'll take that in the category "more spells"...

Come on people, don't be shy. What do you miss in Oblivion?

More items. Like spears, throwing daggers/axes, things like that.

Perhaps (primitive) gunpowder ;)

Well, in Oblivion, cities are located in a different cell, so if you were to fly over the walls you'd end up in an unrendered world (you can still do this by juming on houses then over the wall). Also, you could use it to quicly reach the top of a tower in Oblivion, so you don't have to actually fight your way up. Also, in some Ayleid ruins, there's a door at the beginning you can reach without going through the rest of the dungeon. With Levitation you could just fly up to those and not have to go through the whole dungeon. You can read more about why it's not in the game here.

Also, if you're on the PC you can levitate. Open the console by hitting the tilde (~) key, then type "tcl" without the quotes, and you'll be able to fly.

I kind of think that guns would ruin the elder scrolls feeling...Like in Fable 2 (though I haven't played it, I shouldn't be that quick to judge it). But spears, agreed.

I know about the city-thing, Teinaava, but I assumed that if it would be in the game, they'd have fixed it somehow, right?

Well, it was in Morrowind, and I'm guessing they took it out just so that they wouldn't have to deal with it.

If I could fix anything, it would be the differentiating the races to a greater extent which I posted a few days ago.

If they opened the cities, so that it was in the same cell as the rest of the world, it would have made the game load slower. Maybe not so much for those with high-end coputers, but for those whose computer aren't the best, it would have been noticably slower. Also, they would have had to make their level desgin different, just to compensate for that one thing. Another reason they left it out was because in Morrowind it was "sometimes used as an exploit, so it was removed to preserve game balance."

Also, instead of posting twice in a row, you can click the "edit" button in the top right of your post and edit your first one.

actuaally, guns did not at all ruin fable, they don't kill in one hit, they aren't really anymore powerful than the bows in the last game, it was great!

Talking of bows, it'd be nice to be able to use crossbows and bolts, ninja throwing stars and poison darts again instead of just bows and arrows.

Several things I'd like to add are taken care of by mods. But anyway:

--Additional wildlife like cats, birds, non-aggressive fish, etc. An option to turn on/off this additional wildlife would help people with low-spec machines.
--Mounted combat.
--Damage done to you / by you dependent on where you hit a target. A head shot should do more damage than hitting them in the leg.
--(This one might be a bit gruesome) The player/enemy models showing battle scars/damage, either to their equipment or their bodies. I don't like how armor looks exactly the same at 0 health as it does at 125.
--I wanna see Kvatch rebuilt!

Adding toilets to houses would make things a bit more realistic. Doesnt anyone in Cyrodiil ever need to use the loo?

:P

Adding the odd pile of steaming ogre or troll poo in the wilderness would also be a nice touch!

That's a point - has anyone ever created a toilet mod?

Multiple summons and maybe some summoned creatures that are smart.....

- Children.
- Horseback combat.
- More ranged stuff: Especially crossbows, but javelins and discuses aswell.
- Flying mounts.
- Being able to remove limbs and decapitate, even minorly scar an enemy.
- Clothing that doesn't make you look like an idiot: travel cloaks, jerkins, tunics...
- Hunger.

And that wildlife stuff someone suggested would be cool.

Time-traveling cowboys.

Bigger variation on the weopans/armour. Or the ability to use whatever you have at hand as a weapon. I want to smite someone with a mop.

Rare magic bags of feather, in which you may place your seldom-used, but weight-adding items, like repair hammers, stuff you're taking into town etc. And mind, I said RARE bags of feather, ie. you can't buy them but one or two exist in the game for you to find.

I do like the time-travelling cowboys idea, but only if there are time-travelling bar-wenches too. Equal opportunities and all that :D

Instead of game play things, I'd prefer something that'll allow me to IM my friends while playing Oblivion.

Often do they get [&@%!] off for when I'm gone for 5 hours. (my average Oblivion time in one run)

Allow it to connect to AIM or MSN, things like that.

Domesticated animals would have been a good thing to add, like dogs, cats, fish, squirrels, birds, etc.

Probably to much problems with it.
The only thing would be semi-good is a pack rat like what they added in Tribunal.
