As night fell, Azeem sent two hundred troops across the Strait of Gibraltar in triremes. Under cover of darkness, they unloaded several light canoes, and paddled up the rivers as quietly as possible. Their intention was to scout Aidan's troops and try to establish the strength of his defenses.

His troops were further inland but they saw that he had over sixty warships patrolling the Strait.

At Azeem's largest Atlantic-side port, one thousand archers and one thousand footmen, half Azeem's and half Korba's, boarded a fleet of galleons. The ships left port, escorted by twenty warships. Sailing far north, they made land a few miles north of Aidan's Spanish lands and began a stealthy march south a bit inland. The warships returned to Azeem, and were soon deployed along with the other ten to engage Aidan's troops in the Strait.

Some galleons were destroyed by patrolling warships. 200 archers were drowned. When they reached the shore, they spotted one of Aidan's coastal forts.

Are Aidan's troops on land aware of Azeem's troops? And how prepared are they? Give me the lay of the land, if you would.

They are aware and they've been preparing since the spies saw you. And you're forgetting Masked, Skyr, Sav and Shadow's troops.

The land is sand with a hill leading up to a craggy, sparse forest. The fort is beside the forest.

Gideon, heavy troops can either be cavalry or pikemen. You need to choose and there is no changing.
