THIS SHOULD BE STICKIED~~ DOES ANYONE LOOK HERE? HEY! HEY! H
I went to the dentist, yay~
A new dentist, yay~
I apparently came an hour early, so waiting, yay~
Now, I've known that I've been a bit of a masochist when it comes to pain in my gums. I remember pressing my thumbnail against them because it feels good.
Today, I learned that I really am a masochist in regards to pain on the gums. Oh yes Doctor, please put that metal pick in my mouth, and pick at the base of my teeth!
Anyways, I got the average lecture. "Well I didn't see anything, but you have to floss more." My Dentist even remarked on it as she went over my gums. "See that inflation in the mirror, yeah, that's a sign that you're gums are [&@%!] off."
My teeth are now shiny and smooth.
Also: this should be stickied.

I have done nothing, which is quite a waste since school starts tomorrow. I can't say I long for it, not at all.
I have just got a new computer, since the other one refused to work properly no matter how many times I left it to be repaired. Hopefully, this one will not give me such problems. So now I must install my games.

I just discovered I have SIX assignments due in Physics tommorrow
I also met one of this years foreign exchange students [whose name I won't say, as she told me not to], who is from some place in Japan! We made a deal: I'll help her with English, and she'll help me with Japanese!

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I had my trial shift at the pub tonight... I'm not optimistic to be honest, I found out there's 12 people competing for 2 positions. I got on well with all the staff and only made one minor mistake*, but the pub wasn't what I was expecting - I thought it was going to be low, uneven ceilings, distressed oak beams and men in red corduroy trousers with beards drinking beer with bits of twig floating in it and referring to Mrs Corduroy as 'the wife'. It was actually a glorified restaurant, and I've never done any bar work involving food before and entering it all into the till required a PhD in quantum computing. I do share a love of real ale with the manager though, which has to work in my favour...
* At the start of my shift the manager explicitly told me to make sure I hadn't left a pen and pad in my pocket before I left because they're in quite short supply. After I'd parked my car and was walking towards my house, I fiddled around for my house keys and thought 'What's that papery thing in my pocket?'. I pulled it out and lo and behold...

In physics we have to have a 'pocket book', which is a small bag or case to keep random items in that you may need for explanations one day. So, I decided to rip the guts out of my broken Xbox 360 and use the case as mine! Fun!

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
So, first day of school today and it was ok. But we are doing projects this year, and I must have decided what to do on Wednesday. I have no ideas!
Arghh! Right now I hate Vista, and computers, and that I am so non-technical. I can't install my games and I don't know if something is wrong with the computer or if it's just me.
I wonder why I believed everything would work just because I was given a new machine.

Yesterday I began taking Paxil. Wednesday I have my first appointment with a psychiatrist. For all you people who called me crazy... dang, you were right.

Meh. One of my best friends is bipolar. One of my favourite teachers at school is also bipolar. Mental "illness" doesn't make you any worse as a person.

Her mom sent her to a crazy camp in South Carolina...
Which really stinks, because she's pretty much my best friend...
That being said, I get the feeling that I am bipolar sometimes....
But don't worry, Psychiatrists just exist to try to make the human condition into a disease, and then charge up the rear to cure it.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Actually seeing a shrink and taking anti depressant dosnt mean you have a mental illness. I always thought that meant you were feeling down. Anti depressant isnt something that you have to take for the rest of your life, for some people it can be, some people just need to figure stuff out and need an unbiased third party to talk to.Dogmantra wrote:Mental "illness" doesn't make you any worse as a person.
However if you fancy yourself as an appointed leader of a prickly plant and you have an unhealthy obsession with world domination then id say you are a dangerously insane human being.

Hence "illness" with the quotation marks. I love quotation marks.leroybrown wrote:Actually seeing a shrink and taking anti depressant dosnt mean you have a mental illness.Dogmantra wrote:Mental "illness" doesn't make you any worse as a person.

Well, my neurologist, in addition to diagnosing me with narcolepsy, thinks my hallucinations are brought on my paranoid bipolar schizophrenia. I've also noticed I have nearly every symptom of a severe brain tumor. Not saying I think I do--I'm fairly confident I don't--I just find it interesting.leroybrown wrote:Actually seeing a shrink and taking anti depressant dosnt mean you have a mental illness.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Maybe you just worry too much sir! I hate labels because that dosnt really help the worry factor. Have you had an EEG? Those are effing expensive necessary. Im partially epileptic i have a slight twitch from time to time and i get really bad headaches sometimes (cluster headaches) and i was paranoid about a brain tumor cause i didnt know what else could cause that much pain. Turns out i was just freaking out and there was no tumor.
EDIT:MRI, it was MRI, i am a [@#@].

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I've had two EEGs, an MRI (hence my confidence in lack of tumor), two sleep studies and one meeting with a shrink a few years ago. So, I'm a bit more confident in the other stuff than most.
Wait.. why am I winking? That's terrible.
PS: You've told me about the cluster headaches. It's when we were competing that time on MSN over who had more afflictions. I think I won.

I caught it off my friend.
No, I just don't like it because I run a lot. It isn't serious though, only when I run in cold windy conditions.

As for LPS, let's have a moment of silence for the victims of that dreadful disease. Sadly, many in my own family have fallen prey.

I just read through pretty much this entire thread whilst listening to a load of Nick Cave on Spotify to decide which albums of his to ask for for my birthday (whatever happened to Rexana? She could always be relied on to post moderately amusing stuff in this thread - "LOOK I CAN STILL TYPE!" being my personal favourite) - I have to say that I'm starting to get a bit bored of being unemployed.
And the 5 minutes I dedicated to having a shower this morning encapsulated the narrow window in which the postman came with my new set of harmonicas so I missed him and got one of the dreaded Royal Mail Red Cards Of Doom. And since it's bank holiday weekend the sorting office won't be open again until Tuesday. Damn and blast.
