Torolf sighed, and closed his eyes.
Morning came fast, perhaps too fast for the exhausted young travellers. The sun's rays shot through the jagged peaks of the Velothis to the east, turning the air above the steaming Eastmarch plane turn a brilliant sulphurous orange. "Hey! Everybody! Wakey wakey!" came Irriwen's voice from outside of the tents. She unceremoniously poked Niir with the tip of her shoe.
