the archers fired continuosly to the bandits, meanwhile 500 soldiers moved behind the bandits, hiding in the shadow.
Then they attack both in front and behind the bandits.

The bandits were a scattered force so this tactic did not work well. As the enemies closed in, they sneaked out the way. Bandits behind the 500 soldiers began firing arrows.

Fjell's general decided enough was enough, so he gathered all his soldiers, and called those waiting at the edge of the forest, and charged at the bandits, urging Lorenzo's forces to join them.

Not trying, to control your army, it's up to you if they listen, just offering you the option.

The bandits were in clumps of ten, hiding in bushes and amongst the trees. They were very hard to spot. About fifty of Fjell's soldiers died before they even got near to the bandits.

Fjell'sd men continued the charge, finally hitting the first few clumps of bandits.

The bandits slowly walked backwards, drawing their swords. They were beginning to get slaughtered.

Fjell's archers sprinted up up to just behind their soldiers, and launched volley after volley at the bandits.

Lorenzo's soldier run to the bandits, along with Fjell's army.
Archers moved to both sides in order to stop any retreat.

The bandits' line was too wide and spaced out for any volley or flanking to be successful. Once the enemy soldiers had went over a certain position, hundreds of bandits jumped out of the trees, surrounding them. Some remained in the canopies, firing arrows.

Fjell's archers, protected by the soldiers, made the canopies their new targets.
The soldiers made a circle formation, pointing their swords outwards, with their archers in the centre.

The bandits were almost invisible, they were wearing leaf-covered leather armour.

After realising they weren't doing much of an affect, half the archers got out shields and protected as many men from the arrows as possible, and the rest shot through the gaps in between their comrades at the bandits with swords.

A few bandits fell from the trees dead but the vast majority remained.

The soldiers from Lorenzo's army that had tried to sneak behind the bandit army fell outside the ring of bandits. They focused their efforts on breaking through the bandit ring at its thinnest point. Fjell's army, and Lorenzo's that were inside the ring, focused on the same point, but from the inside.

The bandits scattered again, breaking into different groups and running in different directions. The archers in the trees remained. They killed many troops.

Lorenzo's archers shot their flaming arrows into the canopy, forcing the bandits to jump down or burn to death.

The flaming arrows did little to the leaves. As soon as a fire was started, it was quickly put out. The flaming arrows were designed to burn down wooden houses, not bandits in trees. The bandits on the ground keep running, stopping, firing arrows and then running away again.

The soldiers and archers charged at the retreating warrior bandits, while strapping shields to their backs and keeping low to protect themselves from the archers

The bandits appeared to stop, as if they were waiting for the soldiers to catch up. Suddenly, more bandits jumped out from behind trees, ambushing the soldiers.

Spoiler:

The bandits had 700 archers and 700 soldiers. Then it was cut to 500 archers and 500 soldiers. Then they got reinforcements and tey now have about 900 archers and 700 soldiers.

You have 500 soldiers and 700 archers.

Skyr has about 200 archers and 700 soldiers
