that's why it keeps crashing out of nowhere.

Sorry for double post but this is a complete change of subject:

Found "Fangorn Forest". I'm trying to make a LotR server. I found out how to make Moria. Scribbane's been really helpful because he showed me how to make a volcano that spews lava.

Veets, is it possible to change a single player server into a multiplayer one?

POMC, I'm not familiar enough with the workings of servers, but I think it should be possible. I think if you can make a copy of your world and move it to another machine, you should be able to copy the world and use it for a multiplayer purpose. Don't take my word for it though, but it seems like it should be doable.

Hmm... I've got a problem. My forest - which is now Anduin due to it's proximity to a river that meanders quite well - is beside a desert. Hmm... could I cover it up with lots of trees?

I followed the river and found that it stretched on for miles. I have now made a few bridges above a ridge and am about to make Loth-Lorien.

I've not done it yet. I want to make the Shire, Bree, Amon Hen, Rivendell, Moria, Loth-Lorien and Anduin first.

Ah, well I might suggest making sure that you know how to copy stuff over to an SMP map first. Otherwise you will have spent all of this time building things, and then find out you can't transfer it. I would make a throw away world, build a couple of things in SSP and then see how to move it to SMP so you know how when you are ready.

In your Minecraft folder (AppData>Roaming>.minecraft) go to the saves folder. In there, you will have copies of all of your single player world. You should just be able to copy the folder of the world you want and move it wherever. That way you have a backup of the world. I am not 100% sure how to load it in SMP, but there may be a spot in the server folder that you would put it.
