Lunar, i've moved houses. It's been taking a while to get into the swing of things, and just got my comp set up.

Good man. I left home early in my life and set sail to Mexico City without any planning whatsoever. All I did was make sure I knew some people whose houses I could borrow for a while so I didn't have to sleep under a bridge. Gave my folks a week notice and off I went, just me and my sticks. That's all I ever need.leroybrown wrote:Ive been saving up money so i can eventually move out of the country and live somewhere else. I enjoy my life here in the states but ever since i saw rome i realized that theres more to life than i thought. I think the first place ill move to is somewhere in england cause i can understand the language, and from there travel to the rest of europe is significantly cheaper.
When you can, leave. Following your heart will make you a better person.
(also, I didn't know any Spanish at all when I first arrived. You'll pick up a new language pretty fast when you have to, so you don't necessarily have to go to England first.)

It's true. It's pretty polluted, and yeah, it's because of the mountains. It took me around 6 months to get used to the pollution and the height. My lungs kept hurting every time I breathed.Kahn wrote:dude? i've knownfrom a book or something..that that city is very polluted ,is it true? its cuz of the moutains keeping all the gases in or wot?
But it's not any worse than any other large (horribly polluted third world country) city, haha. Mexico City is a really gorgeous city, though. So much history and culture. So many people, but who can tell? They're so wonderful, you don't really notice them.
And every Monday morning, the pollution is much less, which means you can actually see the mountains very clearly. We don't have mountains in Belgium, so the first time I saw them was a pretty awesome moment.
I could go on and on. I love Mexico.

PFC, you moved from Belgium to Mexico City? That's quite a change!
I like where I live, for the most part. Getting clouds and rain for 9 months/year isn't so great, nor is the cost of living, but in general the city is nice, and the people are very friendly. Also the natural scenery is amazing--lots of snow-capped mountains, the coast and even a rain forest close by.
If I had to move to another country, I'd probably go back to Barcelona.

It took a while to get used to everything, especially all that chili on every single food item, including candy (for kids!) and fruit. But I find that Mexicans from Mexico City are pretty similar to Europeans in their attitude and customs, so it wasn't hard to find common ground. I now live in the north, close to Texas, and people here are a little different, more American. Most Mexicans here have actually lived in the U.S. or at least have family there. They also talk funny. I'll be going back to Mexico City later this year, or early next year.Deandra wrote:PFC, you moved from Belgium to Mexico City? That's quite a change!
Seattle? I only guess because of the "rain 9 months/year" part, which I got from the movie "Sleepless In Seattle".Deandra wrote:I like where I live, for the most part. Rain for 9 months a year? In good old Blighty we had a great monsoon that started in 4300 BC and never stopped.
It's ridiculous. It's now May, and I was out today in a fairly thick T-shirt, fleece and the one pair of jeans I own that aren't from Asda and I was still cold, and it's been raining constantly for the last month. Although it thoughtfully stopped on Saturday when I went on a date around Birmingham city centre (how romantic!)

It was snowing here too about 2 weeks ago. Maybe by June I'll be able to go outside without a sweater on!Alien wrote:Well here in Central/Western Washington, it snowed during Spring Break. I was like WTF? Is this Winter or Spring break?
