Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
My hardest fight had to be (Main quest spoilers)
I was about level 25-30. I was NOT prepared to have an Elder dragon, a frost dragon, about 5 draugr scourges, some deathlords, random lower level draugr, and a dragon priest try to kill me all at once. Twice I actually fell into a hole between one of the towers off to the side and the top of the temple. After about the sixth time dying, I just said screw it and made a mad dash to the portal. Luckily I was able to get into it before the dragon priest grabbed his staff.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
It has to be against Krosis, at Shearpoint. It was my first encounter with a Dragon Priest and totally unexpected. I'd already killed the dragon and completed the radiant quest objective and was just about to use the word wall... It was a nasty shock I can tell you!
I was only about lvl14 at the time and wasn"t able to beat him until after some serious levelling.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
The hardest that I had was when I was wondering around at level 1-2 just discovering things. When I first started the game I told myself that I was going to discover as many of the locations as possible before doing ANYTHING. Well by the time I started my first quest (after the opening sequence) I had something like 220 locations discovered. Now back to the hardest battle. I see this little cottage north west of Whiterun and decide to go inside and take a peek. On the screen it pops up "Drelas' cottage" I think COOL, maybe a random easy quest. I open the door, see a mage standing at an enchanting table. I start to walk over to him and BAM one shot of fire and I'm a roasty little marshmallow. I think OK, maybe that was a fluke. I go in again (sneaking this time) and instant fire death again. I think, OK, this guy is going down. So after about 10 more deaths I FINALLY manage to take him out and feel really good about the situation.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
OK, so i was going to the quest "Boethia's Calling" and i scaled the mountain up to the top. (i was on master since i thaught i was ready on level 39) and i got to the top of the mountain when there was a pack of snow bears were on one side of it (there were atleast 3 of them). so i started fighting them and was just spamming my potions, i managed to kill 2 of them and then i heard epic music and a swoosh of wind. i turned around and witnessed my first elder dragon, i was freaking out since i leveled up from it and then the elder dragon destroyed the snow bear. so im out of potions and the elder dragon could easily 1 hit me so i run away to a ridge-sort of thing and jump over so im at the shrine now and i fire breathed the dragon. he takes considerable damage because of all the shouts. it whipped out my daedric waraxe and started slicing up between his tail and back leg and after like 40 seconds of cutting him he finally dies and i literally felt like i was the strongest thing in all of skyrim. taking his soul felt like drinking fresh lemonade. aww yeah.

With my current character, I just changed from heavy armors to light ones, at level 55+. I can assure you that almost every fight is challenging

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
Being a level three sneak character with my main skill in archery, and running into that sabre tooth cat as I attempted to travel from Winterhold to Azura's shrine. So unprepared.
I ended up killing the thing eventually after dying a dozen times. I lept up onto a small ledge in the side of the mountain and sniped the beast until it eventually perished. Then I ate its eye in triumph. I turned its pelt into a new set of leather armour.

Krosis is the bane of my existence on every character I've rolled.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
First time I went to Shearpoint I almost got a heart attack but I don't consider it my hardest fight because after a while I just ran. I know for sure that next time I'm searching for shouts, I'm not going near there unless I'm prepared. So why is he always giving you trouble? I get the first time, but in the next playthroughs just avoid him until you're ready! Unless you enjoy the hard fight, of course.Pilaf The Defiler wrote:Krosis is the bane of my existence on every character I've rolled.

Hardest fight of all time?
For one single boss, it was Morokei, for sure.
However, there was that one time at Skuldafn...

The toughest fights for me were Krev the Skinner, Ancient Dragons, Elder Dragons, Any Bandit Chief, A Random Troll near Anga's Mill, Any Draugr above Restless, the Dragon Priests, The Falmer in Irkngthand, and Movarth.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
I don't have a problem with Bandit Chiefs, except with the one at the wreck of the Pride of Tel Vos. I was a pretty low level, and I just got slaughtered. I beat him by running in circles using Frostbite to drain his stamina then finally busting a cap.bepease2293 wrote:Any Bandit Chief
Obviously the Dragon Priests were difficult, especially Krosis.
At Karthspire, I was in the middle of everything getting killed by Forsworn when an Elder Dragon decided to pop in. Had about a dozen Forsworn of varying kinds, a Hagraven, and a Dragon trying to kill me. Ice Spikes, fireballs, arrows, and frost breath was flying everywhere and after dying a lot, the battle ended at the top of the camp. I felt extreme.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
Hardest battle for me was an encounter with two hagravens and a kick ass briar-heart near Bard's Leap Summit.
The briar-heart would come up to my argonian mage then finish him off in two or three strikes of his dual blades.
If he didn't kill me in that re-loading battle, it'd be the hagravens throwing armies of fireballs at me, which can be quite annoying.

The Dragon Priest with the Staff of Sparks. I was cowering behind the coffins and popping my head up after he fired. Took me ages to slowly kill him.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
I have to mention that Otar or whatever his name was gave me nearly as hard a time as Krosis, but I was playing as a very squishy Destruction mage with all his points in Magicka at the time.

Malyn [&@%!] Varen. That elf and his dremora wer the source of half my hair torn out and my cat frightend out of it's skin. This was on my mage. When I tried it with a warrior they all died easily. Guess they suck at close range but excell at long range.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
I play all these characters with ADEPT DIFFICULTY
Morokei with a lvl 12 mage >_<. Being a mage, my character had been bumping up only his magicka so his health was like... yeah. It only took two attacks from Morokei to kill him. Also, he didn't have that good spells and wasn't carrying enough potions with him. I was really ill prepared cause I had no idea I would face a foe like Morokei during this particular quest line. I don't think I would have been able to defeat him but then Morokei somehow bugged out and got stuck and then I just shot like 200 arrows into his head XD. Didn't feel that proud of it really.
Random archer Draugr Deathlord with the same mage character. The dude keeps one-shotting him with his ebony bow and blasting him across the room with FUS-RO-DAH. For now it seems totally hopeless to get past him via combat so I guess I'll just create a distraction and run. LoL. Or then just accept my defeat, go and level up my character and then come back and kick his bony butt.
Volsung with a level 20-something (gotta check out that from my save) assassin. This was my first Dragon priest in the game and thus was a complete surprise. I actually didn't die once during the battle but I pretty much used all the potions I had in my inventory. It was very intense. My hands were shaking after I defeated him.
Kvenel the Tongue with the same assassin character who was level 10-something at the time. Kvenel and his stupid mage-type Draugr Scourge bodyguard kept trashing him in seconds. At last I resorted to the technique he was best at. Shoot an arrow from the dark, hide, repeat. Took probably 30 minutes or something since that too failed a couple of times and he was caught and promptly beaten up to a pulp XD.

This. He and his freaking dremora were a real pain in the butt to my assassin type of character who excels in sneak attacks. Try to perform those in this battle -_- (had no invisibility potions or such in my inventory)Mr.Argonian wrote:Malyn [&@%!] Varen. Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
I just remembered! I was on my first, with a Breton sneak-spellsword, who specializes in mainly everything and after reaching level 30 or so, I started having trouble in draugr dungeons, because they had started having Shouts. I didn't, because the only MQ quest I had done yet was follow Hadvar to Riverwood, so I decided to go get some dragons in the air. To get to "Dragon rising" I obviously had to go through Bleak Falls Barrow first, and once in it, I found myself against an enemy that simply annihilated me. I don't know what it is, he was a simple bandit, but whatever I tried, I got killed. I tried every tactic at my disposal: set runes, summon my useless Flame Atronach (if only I had had a Lord Dremora...), close combat, ranged combat (bow and spells), dual wielding, blade and spell... It took me almost an hour. One entire hour to get past a stupid bandit! Compared to that battle, the one at the ruins before Sovngarde (which I previously said was my hardest fight) was easy. I only did it three or four times, and all I had to do was try and avoid getting caught in the middle of all the Death Overlords shouting. In BLB I actually paused the game to decide a strategy, all for one petty bandit. I still can't understand how it was possible. He didn't have powerful equipment or anything. The strange thing is that when I actually got him, I killed him with two arrows, whilst before my sneak attacks weren't affecting him almost at all and he just charged me and killed me. And I didn't touch the difficulty, all was done on Adept.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
For me it was probably my first encounter with an ancient dragon at Falkreath with my Dunmer Jack-of-all-trades (it seems that damn town has a dragon-magnet or something hidden nearby), although, it might not count as after getting killed the first 3 times, I was able to lure it just outside the walls where the entire town guard threw themselves at it while I fired arrows at a safe distance :/
