"I'm OK." Aarys muttered, sliding a new magazine into the M1. "We need to help the others."

"No." said Lyra. "You cannot. I simply will not let you. You and Gladro are each part of the prochecy. We are lucky neither of you were harmed."

Aarys blanched. "What?!? There are eight of us in your damn prophesy! We have to save the rest!" Her eyes were glistening, and she was holding back tears.

"Logan and Drago have other men assisting your friends!" Lyra responded. "They will be okay!"

The One put his hand on Aarys' shoulder. "The Old God is with them." he said. "He shall aid them in this battle."

Aarys closed her eyes for a moment. "Dammit..." Her voice was much quieter, seemingly smaller than before. "If we're going to go, we might as well go..."

"So... What now? We're effing trapped in here!" Hremai shouted, before uttering a series of very colourful Drow swearwords.

"We must wait as long as we can." Lyra said. "We need the others' support to blast a pathway to the compound's exit." She grinned. "Besides, we wouldn't want to leave your little human boyfriend, Valentin, behind. Now, I need your help. We're going to mount a gun on each of these cars."

The Sun Elf woman approached one of the large metal racks at the garage's back wall. On the rack was four large crates. "Help me carry one of these crates."

- - -

"There's a back exit." Logan said, making his way through the ruins of the planetarium. "We'll leave the General's body behind. Follow me...and do it quickly."

"Oh, heavens no, I though we were going to drag it the whole way," Hremai sarcastically added, befor hurrying after Logan.

Spoiler:
:)
The crates, which each contained parts of a separate machine gun, were each set down beside the two cars. Lyra hastilly got to work on mounting one of the guns on the first car. "So, did the eight of you know each other before we rescued you?" she asked Aarys and Gladro as she worked.

- - -

Logan kicked through the exit door, revealing the battle outside. A squadron of ten rebel soldiers awaited him there. "Let's go!" Logan shouted to the eight. "Follow me!"

Shards were already beginning to fire at the rebels. But the rebels instinctively fired back with great power.

Lyra held a nail with her teeth as she screwed a bolt into place. "The Moon Elf?" she asked. "Well, I hope the eight of you get along well now. It's been a year."

"He's a bit childish at times." Lyra said with a short giggle. She finally finished mounting the first gun. Quickly, she hopped out of the vehicle and into the other car.

"Well, at least we knew that you and Valentin are friendly with one another." the Sun Elf said as she began mounting the second gun. She then paused. "I'm sorry. I was just joking. I'll leave you two alone. It's none of my business."
Spoiler:
I just had to do it one more time. I'm a jerk.

"Once I finish mounting these guns, we'll defend the garage until the others get here." said Lyra. "Everyone's scattering. They're all awaiting the General's orders. And, since there's no General anymore, there are no orders to give. Everyone is just bolting."

Lyra wiped a tear from her eye. "The rebels...may have been defeated today."

"You can't think like that. As long an any of us live, so will the rebellion." Aarys said seriously. She paused for a moment. "Need any help with those machine guns?"

Spoiler:
Drago grabbed Ashriel's arm. "Listen, kid," he said seriously. "You've been a big pain in my ass this entire time. What do you think's going to happen when you get out there? You're gonna blast your way through all the damn Shards out there and be the hero of the day? Bullsh*t! If you want to go out there, fine! But we need you."
"I'm just getting out of here!" Exclaimed Ashriel. He grabbed a pistol and decided to follow The One. He needed more information at the very least.
"No matter what my feelings are about you people, and trust me, they aren't so good, have faith. The Rebels are not defeated. I'd rather die than see the Mortal's last push be for nothing." Ashriel said, taking a serious tone for once.

Gladro looked at Ashriel. He was surprised how much he had grown to care for the fate of the others over the past year, time was he wouldn't put Ashriel out of he was on fire.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Peter, having previously retrieved an SVT-40 from Logan, emptied the weapon's ten round magazine over the course of a two minute period – he placed his shots carefully, taking into consideration the location and armament of the various Shards who fired on the desperate mortals. Peter quickly reloaded the rifle, placing the spent magazine into his shirt's front pocket; there was no sense in adopting the drop-and-discard approach when magazines, and other supplies, were so precious to the rebel effort. He remained focused all the while, his features giving no evidence of excitement or apprehension.

Lyra nodded. "Get the One into that car." she said. "I'm almost done. Then, we'll have to cover the garage."

Aarys helped the old man into the vehicle. "Do you have any spare ammo on you?" She asked, glancing at Lyra.

Lyra nodded once again. "There's six crates on the other side of the garage behind the tanks. They're labeled. Take everything you need."

- - -

Logan, Dragovan, and the others fought towards the eastern region of the compound. Three rebel soldiers died along the way, but the group continued fighting. They quickly reached a small stone building. Logan smashed the door down and rushed inside. "Cover the door!" he ordered. "I'll searched for the map!"

Shards were sprinting towards the area, firing their weapons.

Aarys quickly went through one of the crates, taking a belt of .30-06 and draping it over her shoulder. She also grabbed a TT handgun.
