Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Fornar approached the guardhouse cautiously. He hid in a bush, away from the fight which he could now see. He decided to wait for the fight to end or until he could see that his friends were in dire need of help.

Gaenidil did not feel he was needed at the current moment in time, thus, did nothing.

Katien's spell was fired first, and for once, it worked exactly as intended. The effect took hold on everyone inside the radius: Arellius, Per, Valentia, Niralie, and Psyfalia. The rest of the group, standing behind Katien was spared. The Breton would have to work quickly if she wanted to keep the situation under control; dispelling the effect from her friends was of the utmost priority. The affected parties started scrambling backwards. No doubt the injured ones would only make their injuries worse by doing so.
As a result of the spell Katien had cast, Valentia's flames went down on the ground instead of in front of her. Psyfalia's fireball, however, flew out of her hand in a wide arc, missing Arellius and Per completely. Instead it traveled towards the approaching Sathesi. The Dunmer had no time to react, and the fireball burst at her feet. Thankfully, her race made her almost completely immune to fire. However, the shockwave of the explosion lifted her up and propelled her towards the group of adventurers. The way she flew across the road and hit the ground with a loud thump was almost comical. The Dunmer slid a few feet, finally stopping right next to Psyfalia, face downed. She groaned and lifted her head and upper body with help from her elbows. She spat out a mouthful of dirt and asked:
"Mmmf, whatchu do...that for?" before collapsing back onto the ground, unconscious.
---
Arellius and Per both felt the fear taking control of their minds. What were they even doing here? Running seemed like the only viable course of action. And so they did.
Inside the guardhouse
"What say you, Shakh? These people aren't going to wait much longer!" Gudrun said, her tone demanding, and slightly shrill.
Meanwhile, Raylis was gesturing for Sinyail to get on with it.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" Psyfalia exclaimed in a demoralised tone due to Katien's spell as she continued to scurry backwards on the ground and was most likely making her injured arm worse. She felt a lot of pain due to her adrenaline wearing off and started to groan in pain. No, not groan. More like cry out in pain. After all, she had just have her freaking arm broken. She rolled around on the ground from side to side whilst clutching her broken arm as she continued to cry out in pain.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Niralie's self-healing attempt failed again as Katien's spell took effect and a most depressing feeling washed over her, including a sudden, inexplicable urge to get away from there. She tried to obey it, and the resulting agony as her shoulder scraped the ground nearly caused her to pass out.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Sinyail had decided what he was going to do, and prepared a disintegrate weapon spell to cast towards them, wagering that the surprise of no longer having a useable weapon combined with the time taken to get another one out, or having to fight hand to hand would give him and Raylis the chance they needed. Also, in the aftermath when everything gets explained, it's easier to justify destroying a weapon...

Gaenidil leaned over one of the wounded soldiers and began muttering the weakest of healing spells, it was all he could do, it was pitiful and probably quite useless.

Arellius Afer III
The spell made impact whilst Arellius was in mid leap. A feeling of absolute pessimism hitting him seemingly out of nowhere; sudden hopelessness, gloominess, depression. He went from disgruntled to completely and wholly disheartened. He didn't understand where it had come from. He didn't try to. It was completely overwhelming. Not something to be easily disobeyed or even questioned.
He hit the ground with a low pitched thud but didn't remain there long. Hurriedly and quite frenziedly he scrambled to his feet - Per forgotten - and then fled. Not once did the mercenary look back.

Shakh brushed passed her. "Just tell me who to I kill." The Orc smiled grimly. It's been a long time since he slayed somebody, and he was looking forward to it again.

Valentia shrieked as the spell took hold of her. Try as she may to fight it, she could only curl on the ground and shiver.

"That works, I suppose." Aenar muttered as he ran to the side of the fallen Dunmer woman (Sathesi). "C'mon, wake up." He said as he tried to put a bit of healing potion in her mouth.

Inside the guardhouse
Raylis realized time was up as soon as he heard the Orc ask for instructions on who to murder. He darted out of his hiding place, and ran towards Llela. Gudrun was in his path; he rammed an elbow into her face. For once, Gudrun took a blow, seeing as she had had no time to react. She went down with a grunt, leaving Shakh without instructions, though it was plain to see who was fighting who.
Raylis slid down onto the ground next to Llela, and cut the ropes that held her hands and feet together with a dagger.
"Get up, get up, we have to fight!" he urged her.
Outside the guardhouse.
At first, the healing potion simply ran over Sethesi's lips, but then a bit of life returned into her; she instinctively swallowed some of the bitter-tasting potion and promptly started coughing. She rolled over and got onto her hands and knees, still coughing.
"[&@%!], that tastes like...bad. Blegh."
She rolled onto her back and groaned. "Damn...everything hurts."

Inside
Alindrel wobbled back to her feet, looking back and forth between what in her head was dubbed that harpy-esque Nord, the green fellow and 'all those queer folk from the tavern', or what was left of them anyway, nose bleeding even more, and now looking like it might have caught frostbite as well.
"Wha-... What's goi'g o'?" she drawled, blood obstructing her speech.

Outside
Per had not been able to escape the shockwave of the explosion and had tumbled face-first into the mud. He lifted his head slightly and saw Arellius' back ahead, fleeing the scene. His head was spinning, but he didn't feel hurt. He tried to get up, but his arms wouldn't lift him, and so he lay in the dirt, resting and wating.

Outside the guardhouse
"I guess," Sethesi replied. "I don't think anything's broken, even though it all aches." She sat upright and looked at Aenar. "Thanks for the help...uh...guy." She would have said "kid", but she figured he'd take that the wrong way.
"So what're you people up to anyway?"
Meanwhile, the demoralization spell was starting to wear off.

Valentia gasped in short bursts as she regained control of herself. She stood as soon as she could and stumbled away from their attackers were, preparing an invisibility spell to be safe.

Niralie lay flat on the ground, resting. Her shoulder still burned like fury, and she wasn't sure how much blood she had lost, but the absence of the demoralization effect was giving her some confidence. She would try her healing spell again soon.

Arellius Afer III
Arellius, having made it almost to the edge of town, slowed as the demoralize spell began to retract his hold on him. However, it was not just his courage and confidence that was returning but also his great anger; he was furious. Snarling, he turned in his step. It was suicide to take on the entire group at once, he knew, but he had to do something; make sure Gudrun was okay for one. He sheathed both blades and took his first step forward, crouching low now.
He began to sneak towards Dresele's, wanting to gain a good overview of the situation from her roof. Slowly; cautiously; tentatively, even; he moved, hoping - praying - that he'd make it onto the roof without mishap. From there he could decide what to do next.

Suddenly, an Altmer came out of nowhere and elbowed Gudrun to the ground. Noticing that this elf is not on the same side, Shakh raised his blade and gave chase.
He found the elf helping a female Dark Elf up. "I hope you know how to fight, because you just made the worst mistake you'll ever make in your entire life!"
Shakh swung his sword, aiming directly for the neck of the Altmer.

"Some sort of brawl. I'm not really sure, so I'm staying out of it best I can." Aenar replied, looking around to see if any other were injured.
