Lord of the Rings - The First Age

[POMC S117]

Findorin ducked under an orc sword and speared it with his sword. He threw it on the ground and glared at the others. They fled.

Spoiler:

Has there been a response of some kind to me?

[POMC S117]

Legorond and Irri reached the cabin just as the sun touched the mountains, spreading a pink light over the valley. On the table was some food. Legorond ate it ravenously.

[Eltee]

Irri could never remember being hungrier in her life. She immediately bean eating as much as she could, as fast as she could. Before she had eaten half the food on the plate, she was hiccoughing. The bloody, blurry events of the day spurted and pulsed through her mind at random intervals.

[POMC S117]

"What do you think happened to Gondolin?"

[Eltee]

Irri looked up, and looked at Legorond. Her haunted eyes made her look even younger than her already scant 16 years in that moment. "I don't know." She said softy.

[POMC S117]

"You were very brave. Braver than me."

[Eltee]

Irri stared at the plate. *hic*. She hiccoughed. "So many people are just... Gone." She said plaintively. "And what about the Enemy? I killed... I killed. I know they're goblins, but... What if they're just like us, deep inside? And, they're gone. Because of me."

[POMC S117]

"Trust me, they're not." Said Legorond darkly. "When you get captured and tortured and mocked by them, you notice that they couldn't be any more different."

[Eltee]

Irri took several deep breaths. "Not the same... Not the *hic* same..." Her eyes were glistening with tears. She looked at her bloodstained hands. "This isn't what an adventure was supposed to be..."

Going through his normal routine, Dwanum woke up the next day again and went to get more drinks, waiting for the commander's next orders.

[POMC S117]

"This might only be the beginning." He said sorrowfully.

*

"Soldiers!" Bellowed one of the main commanders. "Pack your bags! We go to Nogrod!"

[Imp]

Dwanum quickly woke up from his daily routines and quickly ran to his tent. He grabbed his pack and sack and filled it back up. He went to the tavern for one last drink then arrived at the commander's front, with all of the soldiers.

[POMC S117]

"Everyone, take care crossing the ford. Monsters lurk in the waters." The whole army suddenly went quiet and slowed down.

[Eltee]

Irri sighed. "Well... What next? I can't stay here forever."

[POMC S117]

"I would get some rest. Don't worry. I'll stay awake until Beleg gets back." Yawned Legorond.

[Eltee]

"Okay." Irri said. She hadn't really realized how tired she was. She found a blanket, and huddled in a corner. She was asleep within a minute.

[POMC S117]

LEgorond watched her for a bit. He observed how innocent she was, how young she was. He hanged his head in shame when he remembered that he had allowed her to come with him, that he had not protected her. For hours, he stayed awake, however, he eventually succumbed to exhaustion.

With every next step he took, Dwanum's feet made no noise. Precautioning the monsters, he always had his weapons at the ready.

[POMC S117]

"HOOM!" "HOOM!" Suddenly, a huge whole was cut right through the ford, sending dwarves and fish up into the air. Some landed safely on the soft mud, however, a few were swept away by a summoned current.

[Imp]

Dwanum, taking in his first time in immediate combat, quickly made a huge swing with his mattock blindly hitting nothing. He ran back a bit, waiting to see what has happened.

[Eltee]

Spoiler:

So, I'll just wait for the next day, yeah?

[POMC S117]

Spoiler:

I'll post something.

"Legorond." Boomed a mysterious voice inside his head. "You can't save her. I am the Crow Master! I am the epitome of evil! However, I can help you! Meet me at Brethil, the inn.!" Suddenly, his mind dreamt of fire and death and destruction and when he woke he was on the ground, sweat plastering him.

[Imp]

Spoiler:

Was that last post by you for me?
