I am announcing that our new 1.8 prototype server is a fresh start- A completely new map and all.

And don't worry, I do have backups of the old world.

Beta 1.8 doesn't work.

When I click to bring up the installer/whatever, it says something about minecraft.jar!

IT DOES WORK. Me and Veets got it working. Go the file location of 1.8 on your computer, copy paste it into the folder bin inside .minecraft. Once you do this you'll be given a few options as to what to do as this minecraft.jar already exists in this folder, replace the old one with this version.

1.8 is awesome. I'm in love with the new terrain generation. Haven't found any villages yet, though.

Don't use an .exe installer, as it's most likely a virus. If you have the .jar file, look up a tutorial on where to put it.

Well, go to this link first, and go down to where it says Client, and click to download it.

If you have Google Chrome, it will ask you if you wish to save it.
Click save.

Then go to your Downloads folder, and find the Minecraft.jar or if it just says Minecraft, that's fine too.
