just started again after a 3 year absence and playing an orc barbarian custom class with the skills blunt, block, light armor, athletic, acrobatics, security, and sneak. im having a blast with it, currently wearing full leather with bracers and doubt ill change it out, i just think the leather looks the best.

Level 14 High Elf Mage:
Name-
This character was my first, so he has a mixed bag of skills. I wasn't too intent on making him any sort of character, just having fun playing the game.

http://www.xfire.com/profile/bigshot198 ... #104167376

Level 13 Cute Elf Mage Elf (custom class):
Name- Sarah Aphosy
I started RPing with this character. She was my Assassin Mage, completing Mages guild quests then Dark Brotherhood quests. Now I just run from town to town finding trouble for myself.

I have a bunch more characters that are nothing noteworthy. I havent actually sat down and played the game with them, more or less tried a few mods and game alterations to see how they have effected the game. I'll get around to it sometime...

name: sayeal

race Breton (originally made her as an altmer, but decided to go this route for the more conservative choice and role playing reasons)

The daughter of a foriegn diplomat, sent to the realm of cyrrodil as punishment (she destroyed the house when a spell went awry). She travelled the length and breadth of the place, learning the culture and learning to speak the language. After a time, she came to the imperial city. Upon arrival, word of her troubles at home had reached the higher-ups in the imperial legion. She was arrested on false charges (to keep her out of trouble). A very strange thing happened one day though... during her imprisonment, the emperor and two guards entered the cell...

mostly focused on magic (all magic based skills at least 75 except restoration and illusion) but her childhood taught her well, due to training with her father's master at arms (at spell-point, as her father had forbidden it) she was taught the art of the sword. She combines her talents in unique ways, preferring to initiate combat from afar with a flurry of spells and rely on her sword training, complemented by her spells, to decisively destroy any who stand in her way. Enchantment is, of course, a primary concern for her, but nothing beats the simple feel of hacking limbs from bodies and bathing in the glory of battle. Her fiery spirit was there long ago, now tempered from her anger at banishment, she seeks to bring her father down from his throne, taking it for herself and banishing him to live the same life he threw on her... Cyrodill is but her training ground, all in her way will fall before her.

I realize it's not the most original origin story, but it's enough for me... my other character is much more interesting...

Dashyr (pronounced dash-ear)
Male Redguard

a creature derived from chaos, Dashyr seeks to overthrow the established order. The emperor's death was no mere accident, he chuckled to himself as his agent ended the life of Uriel septum as he stood by, feigning immobility. Dashyr cares nothing for the troubles and trials of the common folk, he seeks reward, and nothing stands in his way. He's not one to walk off into a dungeon looking for lost treasure, he'd much rather have someone else go into the dungeon, kill them, and take the treasure they found. On his seventh birthday, he walked into the wild and never looked back at anvil, the place of his birth. He traveled far and wide, seeking the ultimate opponent. He joined wars, fighting on the smaller side to ensure he fought the greatest number of foes. His ultimate goal, the extinction of mankind, and all who walk the realms of cyrodil. Deciding on a plan, he spoke to an old friend, one Mankar Camaron. Urging him to proceed with the plan they had outlined years ago. The emperor's sons, in secret, were killed. Now, Dashyr had only to ensure the father followed and chaos would soon rule... He walked into the imperial city, calmly cut down the first person that crossed his path, and offered no resistance as the guards dragged him to the prison. another old comrade ensured that he was placed into a certain cell... one that would lead the emperor to his doom...

A really fun character to play for me. Instead of talking to everyone and accepting the quests, I truly do enjoy the act of attempting to eliminate the entirety of cyrodill. I made my way through the assassin's guild (for shadowmere), then the thieves guild (for the hood). Once I had the hood, the slaughter could begin...

Essentially, I simply assassinate anyone who crosses my path. I don't do quests (beyond the ones I need to achieve my goals) and I don't hold anyone sacred (i currently have 8-9 quests that I am unable to complete due to having slaughtered the petitioner...) The only thing that would make me happier was if this game were like fallout 3, where you can, at any time, kill anyone you want, regardless of quests. It's strangely liberating to throw on the cowl, slaughter an entire inn, and walk out smiling as you remove it.

I had a breton that I took to level 51, he was a bad mutha. #1 favorite. bretons are overpowered for magic and probably the best race to play, the 50 percent starting magic resistance is a sick advantage. add the mundane ring and it's all craps from there. excellent restoration, conjuration, illusion and destruction magic - he levelled up real fast in illusion and conjuration. he also handled the blade very well, i was surprised.

#2 - dunmer vampire that lasted to level 47. like the breton, add a couple of high level magic trinkets and he could basically walk around unharmed. best race for vampires, as the born resistance to fire comes in very handy. he seemed to level up in marksman (notoriously lengthy skill to master) much quicker than other characters.

#3 - my fist fighting khajiit, he became a master of hand to hand and was a blast to play. i gave him dark skin with white mane. bad looking cat. khajiit level up faster in hand to hand than anyone else, even redguard, based on my experience.

My all time favourite character would have to be an Imperial "Vampire" character I am playing at the moment.

Name- Sinnith Lester
Race- Imperial
Level-9 (I think)
Gender- Male
Birthsign- The Thief
Stealth
Vampire (Custom Class)
- Sneak.
- Acrobatics.
- Light Armor.
- Hand To Hand.
- Illusion.
- Armourer.
- For the life of me I can't remember the last.

I am having a ball with this character, trying to play him as close as I can to the "dracula vampire stereotype".
I haven't really bothered with efficent levelling like I normally do, prefering RP this character as much as I can. I am just completing the Dark Brotherhood Quests atm, and will then progress to the Theives Guild.
I find relying on the Vampire spells really quite rewarding, using stealth, speed and brute strength to overpower anyone who crosses my path. I also very rarely feed (prefering the higher stage of Vampire "gifts"), and only do so when required for the Brotherhoods missions in the cities. I have also found using Hand To Hand quite a rewarding challege, using fists to smash in skulls instead of a big hammer is AWESOME!!!!!!!

You realise that an anagram of your character's name is Sinister Lenth? It's only missing a G and an S for Sinister Lengths. Suits a vampire perfectly, since you go to "sinister lengths" to get at sleeping people so you can feed on them. Ooh! I scared myself!

My current character has been in-play for over a year (just over 400 hours of gameplay)...

Name: H8Ball
Race: Breton
Birthsign: The Atronach
Custom Class: BattleMage
Favoured Attributes: Strength, Endurance
Major Skills: Blade, Block, Marksman, Light Armor, Alchemy, Restoration, Destruction
Level: 39
Health: 523
Magicka: 450 (200 from Intelligence*2, 50 from Breton, 150 from The Atronach, 50 from Enchantment)
Fatigue: 420 (385 + Enchantments giving Strength+30 and Willpower+5)
Maxed out Attributes: All except Willpower=85, Personality=95, Luck=75
Maxed out Major Skills: Major: Blade, Light Armor, Alchemy
Maxed out Minor Skills: Blunt, Heavy Armor, Armorer
H8Ball (ex PC Engineer)

Some recent discussion lead me to this Build:

Ghenghiz Cohen, the Barbarian
Male - Nord
The Warrior - Combat
Armorer
Athletics
Blade
Block
Blunt
Hand to Hand
Light Armor

Fearsome brutes who inspire fear and dread in the hearts of their enemies. Like a storm, swift and powerful. Finding little use for heavy armor, they rely on smashing their foes into the ground.

The greatest hero in the history of Discworld Cyrodill. He's an old man now, but hasn't let that stop him. Don't laugh at him. In one of the most dangerous professions in the world, he has survived to be very, very old. Get the point?

The trick here.., is to only use Major Skills... period. Yes.., 3 Strength, 2 Endurance, and 2 Speed Skills...

This will most likely wait until the Decemberween Holdiay Season, as I would like to play this more than just a few hours on weekends... ie Vacation.

Race(gender): Khajiit(female)
Name: Dar'Shivani
Class: Hassassin
Favored Attributes: speed, intelligence
Major skills: Athletics, block, h2h, destruction, mysticism, acrobatics, marksman
Story: She was born in the wilderness just outside of Leyawin. Shivani's parents were killed by necromancers when she was still very young. The jet black kitten was found huddled in a small cavern by renrijra krin members. They took her in and taught her their ways. O ver time, she became an expert skooma-runner, earning the title Dar (which means clever) for the numerous times she evaded capture from the imperial legion. However, members of the Orum Gang, a schooma smuggling group in cheydinhal, managed to set her up and she was captured. During her short stay in the Imperial City Prison, she devised a plan to move beyond mere schooma dealing. She planned to learn the ways of the Hassassin, so that she could greater benefit the effort take back Leyawin for her Khajiit brothers and sisters, and get revenge on the Orum Gang, with a smile. So the clever Khajiit set out to earn an invitation into the Dark Brotherhood in order to learn the secrets of assassination.

@Jeff

Personally, I'd go for exactly the same build. Very well thought out for a pure Combat character resembling our favourite heroes...
Spoiler:
From the film, Conan the Barbarian: Youtube Clip
From Discworld book 2, The Light Fantastic (Sky TV's mini-series version): Youtube Clip

The Discworld scene is an obvious comedy take on the Conan scene, with Cohen the Barbarian (Ghenghiz Cohen), an 87-year old Barbarian Hero who's lost all his teeth and says things like (from the book), "Eighty yearsh in the bushiness and what have I got to show for it? Backache, pilesh, bad digeshtion and a hundred different recipesh for shoop. Shoop! I hate shoop!"

Yes. I'm a Terry Pratchett fan too!

Since I am only going to use the Major Skills, I had to go heavy with Strength and Endurance, but held off on the Heavy Armor, as it wasn't Barbarian like... I always remember the part where the Assasins where closing in, and then were suddenly all dead... Cohen never even appeared to move. They were just all dead at his feet. Before I start though, I have to find a good Beard Mod.

I am also tempted to do Rincewind as well... a mage that can't really do Magic.

The Character you have all been waiting for: Ghengiz Cohen

Managed to find a Nords Beard Mod. I used the Barbarian Pre-made Class. I tried to make a custom class, switching H2H for Acrobatics, but it gave the image for Assasin...??? :?
Birthsign: Warrior
Attributes: Strength & Speed
Skills: Athletics, Light Armor, Blade, Blunt, Hand 2 Hand, Armorer, & Block
Specialization: Combat
He will only use Fur Armor. Which means a lot of stopping to repair. He'll go topless, until I can do the Hircine Quest for the Savior's Hide. I may pick up a Cloak Mod, since he seemed to be wearing one in the YouTube Vids. Since he can't use Magic, he will use the wait function to Heal. The is a good role play tool, as he is 90 some years old, so needs to catch his breath occasionally. Whilst exploring some, he'd kill the Bandits at the Camps, then sleep in thier bedrolls to heal.

So far he has only used his Major Skills, with the exception of Acrobatics, which is almost impossible to play without using some. I have trained Heavy Armor, for the 5 Endurance Skill Points, but he has not actually "Used" Heavy Armor. I have managed to get +5 for Endurance each level so far. I have focused on raising Endurance +5, Strength +2/+3, and Agility +1. It will be a hard job to get Agility up, without using those skills, but I need to, or I'll get knocked down a lot.

I managed to become Arena Grand Champion Today. Just started working on the Fighters Guild. Then plan to beat on Umaril, and then end the Oblivion Chrisis. This RP tends to leave questing sort of short. Still haven't decided on the Dark Brotherhood, or Thieves Guild Quests yet. TG might be out, as I'll have to use a Bow for one Quest. Although, having the DB Assasin Follower, might be a good Substitute for the Silver Hoard... :P

It is sort of dissapointing not being able to use Magic, Marksman, Sneak, or Security. Takes a bit of the Tactical Play out of this run. It is fun so far, as long as I keep it in an RP perspective.

Thanks

After walking thru a door (portal), Ghengiz found that he was no longer in Diskworld. In fact, he found that he was in prision, and had to fight his way out of the Areana, some barbaric form of winning ones freedom... which was just the way he liked it. After effortlessly slicing his way to freedom, becoming this new worlds Grand Champion, he wandered around, to explore is new home.

Being one of the few, or rather, the only other person to have a beard in this strange new land, he drew a lot of attention from the new worlders, which tended to lead to them being less freiendly than he would have expected. Especially since he was slaying all of the strange beast, making this new world a safer place to live. Thusly, he decided to join one of their groups, the Fighters Guild, to hopefully become (more like) one of them.

Wandering around exploring, and doing contracts for his new guild, (which he is planning to take over). He has come across many people in need of assistance. Which is fine by him, as they seem very generous in the gift giving department. Not to mention lots of killing for an experienced Barbarian like Ghengiz.

Current Stats:

Level 30 / Health 474
53 - Athletics
67 - Light Armor
50 - Blunt
50 - Hand to Hand
100 - Blade
100 - Block
96 - Aromorer

This is the stats for an In Game Pre-Made Barbarian Class. I had the intent to play a pre-made class, but also the intent to only use Major Skills for Game Play. As I was planning to make the Character, I realized that I would use Acrobatics, and would like to also use Sneak. I also had a plan to use the 5 Training Sessions to train Heavy Armor, to get close to a +5 for Endurance.

After Playing thru for a bit, I probably should have made a Custom Class, and switched Blunt and Hand to Hand, for Acrobatics and Sneak.

Other Skills:
Heavy Armor - 66
Acrobatics - 52
Sneak - 100

I used the 5 Training Sessions to train Heavy Armor, until I achived a 100 in endurance. Plus I read one Skill Book. I then switched to Sneak, to get +3 for Agility. I have not actually used Heavy Armor, or Sneak. The only Skill I have used, other than the Major Skills is Acrobattics, and very sparingly.

Abilities:
100 - Endurance
100 - Strength
60 - Speed
70 - Agilitiy

I currently have 39 Game Days, with 42 Quests Completed, and 30 Levels. ...so I am averaging about 1 Quest and 1 Level per Game Day. I am actualy slowing down on leveling, as Athletics and Light Armor are very slow going, when above 50 Skill Points. It is a big change in game play to have to allow creatures to hit me, to get Light Armor Increases. With a lower Agility, it is important to press the attack, as to not be knocked down from power attacks, but then I lose skill points to raise Light Armor. On the other hand, you do take a lot of hits when knocked down... it just isn't fun or realistic for Role Playing Ghengiz Cohen the Barbarian... :P

With the exception of long travels, like going from Anvil to Chyedenhal, I have mostly done the walk/run travel. I have, to the best of my knowledge (without using a map), found most of all of the locations. About 300 locations so far. Even with all of this walking, I have just broken 50 Skill Points in Athletics.

Overall, even though playing a Tank is not my favorite type of game to play... and starting out the Legendary Ghengiz Cohen the Barbarian, as a Level 1 (which sort of ruins some of the Role Play)... it has been mostly fun.

Izeri
Female Khajiit

Birthsign: The Atronach
Class: Dunerunner
Specialization: Magic
Attributes: Endurance, Luck

Major Skills:
Block
Hand to Hand
Light Armor
Restoration
Alteration
Illusion
Sneak

Backstory: Izeri is part of the last generation of Khajiit born into state-sanctioned slavery in Morrowind. Her parents were Dunerunners (Dunerunners are something similar to the Emperor's Blades, only more Khajiiti) in the service of the Mane and devoted to Baan Dar, when they were captured by slavers from Morrowind and forced into service and toil. They had a daughter, and they taught her their ways in secret, to preserve their culture. Her parents gradually succumbed to disease, and when slavery was outlawed in Morrowind, Izeri was free. She knew nothing of how the world outside the plantation worked, and wandered from town to town, in search of purpose, until one night she was arrested for criminal vagrancy and trespassing in the Imperial City.

Re: Post Your Character

Do you guys really think of a backstory for your character before you create them? Or you add a backstory after the creation?

I never created a storyline for a character. I just have some thoughts of what I'm going to do with him/her when I'm in the creation "menu". And that's it.

I have a mod that adds a dude outside the Imperial Prison Sewers who asks you some basic questions that are roleplaying related ("what did you do in your childhood?" ... "i was a slave") that give you some small bonuses and penalties. For a slave child it is (I think) +3 sneak and 10% weakness to disease. I run through his questions and then construct a story that fits the options I selected.

For me, I always have a story, or a reason to (role) Play. In most cases I am creating some wierd combination of a Character, so the story has a reason(s) they are the way they are. I typically pick the Major Skills that I will use as Primary Playing Skills, then some Secondary Skills, that are usefull, then some Prohibited Skills, that they will never use, so again, the story plays a reason why this is so.

The story that I post in this topic, is mainly for entertainment reasons.

I like to create a little story for my character in my head but I never do anything like walk everywhere or sit in a tavern for 30 minutes staring at a wall.
