"They're talkin' about that gal that took down Frank!" a man at the poker table exclaimed.

Everyone appeared to suddenly become serious. "Oh," one of them muttered. "That wh*re. She was an odd gal. You never see high-class walk into this town. She comes in here wearing a fine red coat and rosy cap. Then she sits at the poker table and asks for a shot. It [&@%!] our buddy, Franky Williams, off. He pulled out his gun, but that girl challenged him to a showdown before he shot. Franky was the fastest guy here. We all thought she'd get killed. But she emptied a mag into his chest before he could even get a clean shot."

The Snake drew his weapon fully.

"Make me get separated from my weapon." He seethed. "I'm not one to get mad, and I'm not your enemy, either. I'm looking for the most powerful gang in New Austin, and you may be it."

Knut had been left by the others to watch the horses, you could never be too careful in Thieve's Landing. He anxiously fiddled with the gun in his pocket as he was eyed by strangers.

Jack looked like he was about to say something, then reconsidered. "Thanks for your help..." He tried to find an appropriate word. "Err... gentlemen." He turned, and walked from the saloon. "That was a pretty big gang." He whispered to John. "They would have left some tracks."

"Well..." Jack muttered. "We are on a small island here in Thieves landing, and they came on the ranch from the west..." He shrugged. "Their hideout must be west of MacFarlane's ranch."

The Snake stopped the rifle with his hand. In a flash, he was holding his knife to the man's throat.

"What. Was. That." He asked through clenched teeth.

The Snake took a shot to his shoulder, and his vision reddened. In one swift throw, his hunter's knife landed itself in the leader's skull. The Snake crouched down to the corpse of the bandit with the slit throat and took his pistol. He aimed it at one of the three remaining bandits and took a shot. Right between the eyes.
