I know of a choir conductor that's deaf, he can tell when they are out of tune so being deaf isn't that big of a musical handicap. And there are different levels of being deaf too.
Just sayin'

Deaf by a longshot, in fact I would actually enjoy it in some ways as it would make life a bit simpler and I could join a deaf club and have something to belong to.
My grandparents on my moms side are both deaf and despite me only knowing basic sign language (the alphabet and a couple words) they still have the patience to communicate with me. I remember spending last New Years Eve with my parents and we went to the deaf club in the nearby city to visit them and I was hanging out with the younger folks there and one of the deaf guys handed out bottles of MD 20/20 to all of us for celebrating!
As for the lack of music, I don't care at all. I used to enjoy music as a teenager but I rarely play any these days. When I'm driving I almost always just roll the window down and just relax and listen to the wind unless I'm in a poor mood in which I play some Cannibal Corpse or Death Angel.
Plus, seeing as it would be almost impossible to successfully play video games while 100% blind and but being Deaf wouldn't matter at all (due to subtitles) I think it would be fine. I could still play Fallout, Skyrim, RPG's, basically any game that had a subtitle option.
Deaf, yep. Our general navigation of the world is mostly based on sight, so it'd be hard as balls to get anywhere being blind. Granted, you might get hit by a bus or something because you can't hear it, but hey. Vehicles have brakes, right?
Losing music would suck immensely, obviously, but I'd just...rather be able to see.
I've thought about this a lot actually and I've come to the conclusion that I wouldn't be able to live without either of them. I'm partly deaf in my right ear and if I was fully deaf in both ears I would go nuts. I would never be able to hear my family again or hear music again. If I'm blind then I would never see my family again or be able to play video games or get into game design. I really don't know what I would rather be.
Mmm.. blind.. or deaf<_< Honestly there are a few ppl I could do without seeing, so I guess it's not all bad
Spoiler:
No joke, it's hard to imagine the scenario if you've never experienced it. Though rare, some injuries can result in the temporary condition, but whether permanent or not you'll eventually adjust in life. My only concern with being blind is how truly limited I would be, where as being deaf I would find to be more adjustable but creates a border between you and others who only know how to talk vocally. I guess what I would miss most would be a select few voices in my personal life.. namely one that knows so well to heal my wounds.
So I guess if I had an ultimatum I would go about as a deaf man

As much as I love music I'd have to say deaf. As a visual person I'd pick a silent world over complete darkness. I wouldn't be able to hear the music, but I would still feel some through vibration.
