SI only had quality during the main quest locations, most other places were oblivion copy-pasta.
I frankly hope to above ABOVE SI quality in this DLC, and given how Skyrim vastly outdoes Oblivion in terms of dungeon and landscape quality, and given how the forgotten Valve looked, I don't doubt we will get it.
So where is my dream? It is the continuation of reality. But where is my reality? It is at the end of your dream.
^I hope your right Sajuuk. In regards to the S Isles,I feel they have a little more personality then "Oblivicopasta" .Though it might just be the loonies that give me that feeling.
This looks legit, and it will not be a copy past of Bloodmoon. Bethesda arn't looking for a money grab. As previouly stated, the Dunmer and Skaal conflict could provide a great story. And Solstheim will obviously have changed over the 200 years. But the name sounds a bit iffy, DLC's normally are independent of questlines, and being the Dragonborn requires you to have completed part of the main quest.
Spears will be a blast, finally I can create my Argonian marsh warrior. But Nords favour axes, not sure why spears come in now.
But honestly the best thing I read in the OP was the fact PS3 will be recieving DLC soon. Yeah sure.... Three months later - Dawnguard has been released on PSN.
I'm actually looking forward to it. I only played Bloodmoon through once and loved it. And I doubt it'll be the same etc. and we get spears! Awesome!
Not a fan of dragon riding but if it is in I hope it's either scripted or if not, it's just something I won't use. Hardly a reason not to get it.
Duderino Abides wrote:Even if it's in, I doubt dragon riding is the focus of the DLC at all.
I don't know about "the focus", but I do enjoy the wordplay with "Dragonborn", as in, carried by dragons. (Compared to the initial "born with the dragon's blood/soul".)

This is how I'm feeling about it right now, as well. I won't be riding any dragons unless I have to. But the Morrowind part is rather exciting for me. Oh, and spears? Imma be spearing everyone in town muahha!

They already have mods for that.
and yes............. I do mean what you think I mean.

Why is everybody saying it'll be in Solstheim? I mean, it's possible, but I'm not really sure they'd revisit it so soon... I mean, it could be interesting, but I just don't know. It seems just as likely to be in mainland Morrowind, at least to me. I could be missing something, though.

Map marker information in the game specifically lists Raven Rock, and Castle Karstagg as places.
Also its been 9 years, two main games, one expansion, and a handful of DLC since we last visited the island.
Its not soon by any means.

Here's a whole list of data files that apparently are included in the 1.8 patch but which do not yet seem to ave a purpose and are presumed to be DLC related (I believe some have been mentioned already):
In my last post I provided the expansion of the datafile names known currently to exist on the update beta.
Allow me to make some conjecture based on the information therein.
1) Firstly, I would like to make a claim to the validity of the information presented by these datafiles and their sourcing. Though the initial claim came from the discovery of a fan on another TES based forum, it has been confirmed and recounted with further detail since the initial findings. Also, a series of emblems and locations pertaining to them have been found including both familiar and unfamiliar destinations. This would have been a lot of effort and skill put in by a troll just for the sake of self-entertainment. That being said, it is also known that BGS had performed a similar leak for dawnguard information prior to its release. All in all my next few points of interest are in the assumption that these named files can be conclusive and point to a DLC information leak.
2) Many people seem fixed to the” known” locations and creatures that previously existed in the Bloodmoon expansion of TESIII Morrowind. I however find it interesting to note some of the oddities that are included in the information files that may suggest something bigger.
Spoiler:
It is common knowledge that the land masses of Morrowind and its island, Vvardenfel existed from the release of the game. They can be seen on a clear day with decent graphics from the apex of the college of winterhold. That being said, there exists a few datafiles that run inconsistent with existing lore and real life experiences in terms of a DLC that solely encompasses Solstheim. For example, we have two creatures that would be atypical if not unfit to survive in the icy territory.
Scrib are larval forms of the kwama that form large hives underground. These hives are “mined” for eggs. Netch are magical surface jellyfish that are commonly utilized for their leather. Both of these creatures, though hardy, would not likely survive such an extreme climate change from the temperate and ashen lands of Vvardenfel, to the permafrost expanses of Solstheim. Scrib would seem especially affected and least likely to survive.
Dwemer artifacts and a new class of automaton have been shown including components that seem typical of a dwemer stronghold as opposed to a collection(dwemer pipes, water gate, steam pump, etc…). Though these may belong to a newfound dwemer structure on the island, nearly every piece of land that existed including many caverns and crevices on the island of Solstheim has been explored. An artist’s rendition of the landscape could vary between the games, but again the lore can only experience so much change. This leads me to believe that again, either the greater piece of Morrowind is involved, or a side mission similar to “lost to the ages” exists rather than a prominent dwemer feature on the island territory. It too has been confirmed that there exist Telvanni Towers. The Mage Lords have been known as scholars and collectors of Dwarven equipment, designs and even the automatons themselves. This doesn’t explain the presence of dwemer structures like the gate and waterworks listed above. Not to mention the lore necessary to describe the movement of these rarities after the destruction of Red Mountain and the subsequent Exodus. Another possibility is smuggling.
Again, to touch on the House Telvanni and the confirmation of their towers, they are magical mushrooms. As a plant-like fungi, magical or not, it requires a place for its root system to expand. In the ashen wastes of Vvardenfel, these magical constructs are able to thrive in the loose ashen soil. The hard stalhrim and permafrost should prove nasty footings for the great fungi. This is also not to mention that 160 years ago the island was controlled by House Indoriil, and 200 years ago House Redoran was battling for the territory, and prior to that it was simply an Imperial Province. The idea of house Telvanni, who typically prefers isolation except to display a clear objection towards the expansion of another house, living on this coveted island is a difficult thing to picture. I suppose it is reasonable to assume that it is isolated enough that they would be capable of practicing their atypical beliefs in private (including slavery, murder for power, ..etc)
3) To address the four armor classes that have been shown.
Spoiler:
Bonemold and Stalhrim are known to be only associated with TES3 and its expansion. However, the Nord and Chitin armors previously exist in certain variations in Skyrim already. Chitin in terms of Morrowind is a light armor whereas it is a heavy armor in Skyrim. Nordic armor in terms of TES3 could refer to Nordic Dragonscale, Nordic Troll Bone, Nordic Plate, Nordic Chain, and other various pieces of Nordic craftmenship that is otherwise not seen in Skyrim. To assume that Nord armor resembles one of these pieces would not go unfounded.
4) Datafiles have been noted as having dragon mount animations including new mount mechanics such as shouting, dual wielding, spellcasting, staff and shield wielding.
Spoiler:
As mentioned on the other forum. A dragon mount for the player, though possible, is not a likely outcome. A dragon mount would be capable of crossing the entire breadth of Skyrim in under a minute, and allow for awkward loading errors including seeing cities from above and reaching unfinished load areas. What is more likely is the ability for you to fight in a single episode on the back of a dragon, or perhaps a creature that has the same design of a dragon with different fundamental characteristics (Pegasus) , or even facing a dragon-mounted enemy.
5) My absolute favorite piece if speculation is SPEARS. I am constantly trying to resist squealing like a little girl at the thought. The question then revolves around what perks would you expect? Do you expect a new perk tree or integration into two-handed? The nerves of the idea could keep me here all night.
6) Final thing is the word animations for Tentacle. Any ideas come to mind? I can only picture a druid style spell. That wouldn’t make much sense in Solstheim though… then again neither do the things above in 2.

Very valid points, although it could still be possible to do Dragon mounts, though I shudder at the thought. It would only require that it is a smaller, player-only dragon. Although, Skyrim is starting to look more and more like the Inheritance saga, it is possible.

I loved Blood Moon! And especially the way Raven Rock evolved from nothing to a city.
But I would rather have a DLC that took me to Morrowinds northern mainland.
To fly on the back of a dragon don't appeal vere much to me. I can't help think of how disappointing it must feel to hit an invisible wall 200 meters above the ground...
